Un cazzo - ecco perche' hanno vinto 3 Superbowl (e ne hanno sfiorati altri due). Non c'e' filosofia!
Vincono perche' cercano i migliori, non perche' leggono i rapporti della polizia.

Il verme Yawnessy naturalmente e' proprio quello che non ha capito nulla, meno di niente. E' un essere vergognoso. E' il peggiore e gli fanno fare gli articoli di testa.

In his news conference today (done via conference call even though Moss was at the stadium earlier in the day), Moss went into Mark McGwire speak saying he didn't want to talk about the past. He blamed most of his problems on the media (always a popular strategy), and said, "I have never been a selfish ballplayer."

It's a lie. A guy who says, "I play when I want to play" and a guy who walks out on his team while the game is still going certainly deserves a reputation as a selfish player. But that doesn't mean he can't change now that he's a Patriot.

While we're on the topic of fibbing, here's this whopper from Bob Kraft (as told to the Globe's Mike Reiss): "I don't think we've changed our philosophy."

Maybe Moss will morph into Troy Brown. But the public perception of the Patriots -- something very dear to Kraft -- is forever changed. Brandon Meriweather doesn't fit that profile. Moss doesn't fit that profile. Which makes one wonder if this wild spree represents any split at the top of the Foxborough masthead. Belichick and Scott Pioli are proven champion-builders and have been given the freedom to buy all the groceries, but Kraft must have some serious reservations.

Say goodbye to that high moral ground, Bob. The Patriots this weekend put their standards on the shelf in the quest for victory. They might be the best team in football, but the Patriots are no longer "different" from all the other NFL organizations.

Adesso la musica e' cambiata: sono arrivati solo sturpatori (anche Meriweather adesso, noto criminale)...and with the 166th pick the Pats choose Al Capone from Northwestern, flanker...chiaro che il puritanesimo (ma brutto stronzo ma tu non odi tanto il sud! - "I can't stand Papelbon's drawl") prevede la pena di morte per questi ragazzi.

Il draft NFL e' un giorno in cui si valutano migliaia di giocatori e in cui si famno mosse e scelte per il futuro della franchigia. Presumo che il talento ed il carattere dei giocatori vengano soppesati attentamente.
Ma alla fine e' football, l'etica, la morale, cerchiamo di non esagerare.

Kraft ha vinto tre titoli, ha una franchigia di successo, uno stadio meraviglioso, non e' ossessionato da un bel niente.

Mr. Dan Shaughnessy il suo presidente sta bombardando bambini in Iraq - scriva qualcosa di forte!

A parte tutto, i Pats nella persona di BB e SP - due corpi, un'anima :D - sono stati chiarissimi con Randy Dandy: alla prima cazzata comportamentale di un certo peso lo sbattono fuori. Tutti sanno chi è questo ragazzo, inutile rivangare il passato, basta essere chiari sin dall'inizio e lavorare sodo.

Devo dire che le prime azioni/dichiarazioni di Moss vanno proprio in questo senso: intanto ha rinunciato a due terzi del compenso che gli spettava nel 2007 - il che è un gran bel biglietto da visita - e poi mi pare abbia capito subito che da voi apprezzano molto il low profile...dichiararsi "the second WR out of Marshall" è di una paraculaggine eccezionale, ma è un altro passo nella giusta direzione.

mi permetto di 'tradurre' il post dell'amico Joe e per chi non 'bazzica' Boston...

beh...la stampa bostoniana sembra essere spesso 'nemica', anche se non sempre, delle squadre di casa

ed in effetti alcuni giornalisti sono poi sotto tiro da parte dei fans che, a mio avviso, nel NE sono molto ma molto competenti

stà di fatto che a volte i media locali esagerino nei loro commenti - potrei citare alcune clamorose boiate e-o previsioni 'cannate' ma evito...

anche se mi ricordo le fortissime critiche dopo il pick addirittura di Richard Seymour...

dico solo che aveva forse già ragione Billy Sullivan ai suoi tempi...

It was an ugly outbreak of violence following an extra point in the third quarter that proved to be an embarrassment to both programs. Meriweather was hardly an innocent bystander in the melee. He was the one who stomped on an unidentified FIU player in the pile, kept wrangling with additional players who were upright, then stomped at least twice more on FIU freshman Artis Warthen, who was down on the ground with his back to Meriweather.
Hmmm. Makes you wonder if Kraft was in the men's room at the time of this selection. As recently as the owners meetings in March, he was repeating his mantra that character counts in the Patriots organization.
"I think since we've bought the team we've shown what kind of people . . . we actually cut a player [Christian Peter] a number of years ago who was drafted who didn't fit the profile of what we want," Kraft told the Globe's Mike Reiss.
"I don't think the general public wants to see overindulged athletes getting a lot of money who don't respect the responsibility and privilege they have."
Efforts to reach Kraft for a comment on Meriweather were unsuccessful last night. Meriweather said he did not speak with the owner before he was selected but had a brief conversation with him after he was drafted.
"We understand each other," Meriweather said. "He told me how long he was watching me play and I told him how long I was watching his team play."

Tutti proprio tutti i torti non li hanno su Merriweather. Non è certo un bravo ragazzo, anzi. Poi se vieni da U, hai quel background lì, sono pochi i caratteri tranquilli usciti da Miami. Per quello il pick mi ha stupito, pensavo andassero su Weddle che era molto più un giocatore "da Patriots".
Con lui aggiungete un talento ottimo, ma non un leader. A Miami era abbastanza in ombra nella squadra da questo punto di vista, un vero leader era Kenny Philipps, l'altra safety. Avete preso un giocatore non alla Brian Dawkins ma alla Sean Taylor, grandi doti, carattere difficile, invischiato in affari non pulitissimi, e che quando è stato chiamato a fare il leader (lo scorso anno è crollato). Certo è un ottimo giocatore che può essere una splendida scelta per voi, ma vederlo come erede di Harrison assolutamente no, nè come ruolo nè come leadership...

Ah e non ha "difeso un compagno". E' salito sopra un avversario che era già per terra, proprio una cosa degna di stima.

Meriweather è una ottima safety in copertura

a NE ci penseranno i coach ed i veterani a far si che non si metta nei guai da pro, in primis, mi sà, proprio Rodney

ottimo talento imho e puo' eventualmente giocare pure da cornerback, quindi versatile: ottimo placcatore ed eccelle contro le corse

credo abbia giocato alla grande contro Calvin Johnson

via Landry e via Nelson era il migliore

Penso che se Tennesse non avesse fatto la vaccata di prendere una safety al posto di un WR, adesso Griffin l'avremmo preso. Speriamo che Merriwheater non ci deluda!
