sinceremente è molto + preoccupante la situazione DE...e QB se davvero han messo in competizione Jackson e Bollinger, perchè vuol dire che TJ è considerato al livello di BB....uno che certo in NFL non ha fatto vedere chissà che cosa...

Bah! Credo sia piu' un modo per non far dormire sugli allori (Allori? quali allori?!?  ) il ragazzo. L'hanno fatto a nche da noi l'anno scorso, mettendo sulla stessa linea di partenza Losman, braccino Holcomb e Craig "chi?" Nall.
Insomma, IMHO e' piu' una questione di psicologia che di reale valutazione della qualita' del giocatore.

mah...non saprei Ciro....Sharper, Smith, T. Williams, Doss e Blue sono un bel pacchetto di safeties....non credo che andranno a prenderne una al primo giro...magari ad uno + basso si, ma non al primo....

Va bene che avevamo una delle difese peggiori sui passaggi, ma non credo che mettere a roster una ventina tra back e safeties sia la soluzione giusta..

...magari prendere un bel DE per dare un certo spessore alla nostra pass-rush non sarebbe una cattiva idea per migliorare la situazione...

Ormai manca poco al draft, visto che nella FA non abbiamo fatto praticamente nulla, vediamo cosa tireremo su il 28 aprile..

Apriamo con Atlanta e chiudiamo con Denver, rispetto all'anno passato le sfide di divsion sono suddivise in modo migliore....gli impegni + gravosi sulla carta sono sicuramente quelli di San Diego, Dallas e Philadelphia....anche se a conti fatti...quest'anno sarà dura in ogni dove...e rischiamo seriamente di diventare la 4a forza della NFC North....

Cedric Griffin sesto Vikings arrestato nell'ultimo anno.....

Vikings cornerback Cedric Griffin was arrested early Sunday morning after an altercation at the Spin nightclub in downtown Minneapolis.

Griffin was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct after fighting with staff members from the Spin, located at 10 S. 5th St. He posted $50 bail and was released at 4:45 a.m.

According to Minneapolis police spokeswoman Lt. Amelia Huffman, Minneapolis police were summoned to the Spin because security members were "physically fighting" with Griffin inside. The officers observed Griffin being carried "bodily down the stairs" toward an exit.

Spin staff members got Griffin outside and told him not to return. "[Griffin] was quite angry," Huffman said, "and was yelling at the officers, refusing to leave." One of the officers maced him, Huffman said, but Griffin still remained on the sidewalk outside the club.

"He was yelling and swearing at officers," Huffman said, "telling the officers that he was going to have them fired." At about 1:40 a.m., Griffin was arrested.

Spin officials later told police they ejected Griffin for a dress-code violation. Huffman said Griffin refused to correct the violation -- wearing his jeans too low -- and would not leave when asked.

"He threw elbows and pulled away when they tried to escort him out," Huffman said.

A Vikings spokesman declined to comment. Griffin has an April 20 court date.

Griffin, penciled in to be a starter in the 2007 season, is the sixth member of the Vikings to be arrested in the past 12 months. According to a 2003 story in the Austin American-Statesman, he also was arrested while attending the University of Texas. In that incident, he was charged for interfering with an emergency telephone call.

Because this is his first arrest since joining the NFL in April 2006, Griffin likely will not be subject to immediate discipline under the league's new personal conduct policy. The lone exception under a first offense, according to the policy, is in cases of "significant bodily harm."

A second offense can lead to fines and/or a suspension. Vikings coach Brad Childress also can levy a limited fine, or deactivate Griffin for a regular-season game -- the equivalent of a suspension with pay.

Vikings sign ex-Jaguars WR Hankton

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (April 16, 2007) -- Cortez Hankton signed with the Minnesota Vikings, leaving Jacksonville after four seasons and joining a team needing to bolster its receivers.

Hankton had 34 catches for 310 yards and two touchdowns with Jacksonville. He signed as a rookie free agent out of Texas Southern and has contributed mostly on special teams.

The Vikings' receiving game was mediocre last season, with former first-round draft pick Troy Williamson struggling with drops. Minnesota signed Tennessee's Bobby Wade in March and most likely will try to strengthen its receiving at the April 28-29 draft.

Dopo Hankton messo sotto contratto un altro potenziale WR, e dico potenziale perchè l'atleta in questione arriva dal basket ed è stato campione di salto in alto in division III della NCAA.....Che vogliano assicurarsi che i WR siano in grado di prendere anche i palloni impossibili?

The Vikings' search for wide receivers landed them an athlete who has never played organized football.

Todd Lowber, a former college basketball player and high jumping champion, signed a three-year contract with the team Wednesday after working out at Winter Park.

The Vikings discovered the 6-3, 205-pound Lowber when he worked out in front of several NFL scouts in late March in Wall Township, N.J. Jim Ulrich, who is helping represent Lowber for Atlanta-based Enter-Sports Management, said his client ran a 4.3 in the 40-yard dash.

Ulrich said several teams expressed interest in Lowber, including Philadelphia, St. Louis, Dallas, San Francisco and Carolina. Lowber had been scheduled to visit the Carolina Panthers today.

"It was just the people. It's all about the people," Lowber said when asked why he elected to sign with the Vikings. "It was the coaching staff. [Receivers coach George] Stewart, obviously I'm looking forward to working with him and Coach [Brad] Childress. They are good people and that's really a good sign because I'm a good person."

Lowber's athletic ability interested NFL teams but there is no doubt he will be a project. He played guard for four seasons on the Ramapo College basketball team in Mahwah, N.J., and won the 2006 NCAA Division III men's high jump. Lowber, who turned 25 in January, graduated in 2006 and spent a brief time playing basketball in Germany before returning to the United States. It was at that point he began training to play in the NFL.

"He has such freakish talent, who knows what's going to happen when he puts the pads on?" Ulrich said.

Per quanto riguarda AD, visto che l'ultima moda è quella di avere 2 rb a dividersi le corse, non mi dispiacerebbe per niente...vediamo se arriverà alla 7..

WR serio? Chi? Quale?
No, purtroppo i tre nuovi sono un'ex giocatore di Basket (mai cimentatosi con il fotball), Hankton (che ha ricevuto per 300 e qualcosa yards in 4 anni) e Bobby Wade, ex Titans, forse il migliore dei 3....

Come safety abbiamo preso Doss di Indy, però in molti mock pensano che potremmo andare su Landry di LSU al draft....diciamo che quello che faremo domani non è ancora chiaro....vedremo che succede....alcuni ci abbinano Quinn, altri addirittura Peterson....stay tuned.... :figo:

Wow, il draft. Non vedo l'ora di venire qui a lamentarmi delle pessime scelte che faremo. :D

A 'sto punto punterei a migliorare la difesa sui passaggi comunque, tanto in attacco pure prendendo Quinn, per far arrivare un pallone in mano a qualcuno e considerato il livello dei ricevitore (T. Taylor se ne va giusto?), ci toccherà ricoprire i WR di colla vinilica e usarli a mò di bersagli.

Ma il TE? Non dovevmo prendere Gonzales free agent da KC etc.etc. ?
