E' la fine di un'era....

Work has begun on tearing out the Lambeau Field grass surface in preparation for a new synthetically reinforced grass surface and new drainage and heating system being installed. CEO Bob Harlan said work began on Monday and will continue as long as weather conditions don't interfere with construction. The turf is expected to be ready for the start of next season.

Dopo Foxborough un altro pezzo di storia che viene sovvertito - questo davvero legato alla preistoria del football moderno.

Non capisco se queste decisioni sono motivate da una richiesta dei giocatori - Brady si era lamentato pesantemente dopo la sconfitta patita in casa alla Week 10 contro i Jets - o se si pensa in questo modo di procurare a location tendenzialmente non gradite una chance di ospitare il Superbowl.

beh mi pare difficile un sb alla frozen tundra...immagina miami contro new orleans a -10 sotto la neve...suggestivo ma improponibile.

Salve ragazzi.... ho letto tutti i vostri commenti su Brett Favre....e devo dire
di essere stato piacevolmente sorpreso dagli attestati di stima nei suoi confronti.
Anche se al 90% smetterà quest'anno ..(e io spero di no) rimane uno dei migliori quaterback in circolazione
soprattutto se si guarda la giovane e inesperta squadra dei Packers.
E quest'anno mi sembra comunque abbiano fatto un discerto campionato.
Ci sono punti da migliorare in difesa e in attacco, ma credo che Favre (in condizioni fisiche buone)
possa e debba dire la sua.
quindi posso solo dire una cosa .......

stiamo parlando di un quarterback che è stato eletto quest'anno tre volte in 16 week player of the week...non è proprio un catorcio e sinceramente se romo è al probowl brett deve considerarsi non presente per manifesta superiorità...

Packers' Robinson suspended one year

News from official Packers team site
(Oct. 17, 2006) -- Green Bay Packers wide receiver Koren Robinson was suspended without pay for a minimum of one year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

The league's action came hours after Robinson pleaded not guilty to charges of drunken driving and fleeing police stemming from a high-speed chase in August.

Robinson was taken into custody earlier Oct. 17 because of a warrant in Blue Earth County for a previous traffic violation. He was released a short time later, after his attorney went to a bank to withdraw $1,000 to post bond.

The more serious charges came when Robinson was with the Minnesota Vikings. His car topped 100 mph as police chased him from St. Peter to the Vikings' training camp headquarters in Mankato on Aug. 15. Police say Robinson's blood-alcohol content was 0.11 percent, well above the legal limit of 0.08.

The Vikings cut Robinson, and he signed with the Packers in September.

This month, Robinson was sentenced to three months in jail for violating probation on a separate drunken-driving case in Kirkland, Wash., last year. He plans to serve the sentence after the season.

Robinson already had been suspended for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy in 2004.

St. Peter is about 57 miles southwest of Minneapolis, and about 10 miles north of Mankato.

Favre To Return In 2007

Packers quarterback Brett Favre will be back in 2007.

"Brett Favre informed me this morning that he plans to return for a 17th NFL season," General Manager Ted Thompson said. "The Packers are excited by his decision and look forward to a successful 2007 campaign."

With Favre's return, the Packers hope to continue the success they were building at the end of 2006, when they finished the season with a four-game winning streak to reach the .500 mark at 8-8.

"I am so excited about coming back," Favre told the Biloxi Sun Herald newspaper. "We have a good nucleus of young players. We were 8-8 last year and that's encouraging.

"My offensive line looks good, the defense played good down the stretch. I'm excited about playing for a talented young football team."
