Contando che avevano perso anche Foley, i Chargers sono praticamente senza LB :D
Restano Edwards (che probabilmente ora giocherà OLB) e Godfrey..
Senza contare la perdita più importante di tutti, Igor Olshansky.. La cedo brutta per la difesa dei Chargers...

a parte il plummer macina gioco, che a me sfugge, il problema di san diego mi sembra lo stesso dell'anno scorso: o si stravince o non si vince.

i problemi alla difesa certo non aiutano, ma non c'è quella costanza o quella rabbia per vincere anche le partite punto a punto che ci si dovrebbe aspettare. personalmente sulla carta dovrebbero stravincerla questa division eppure continua a mancare qualcosa e a questo punto non penso sia un problema di giocatori.

ma dove???? rating ancora sulla strabiliante cifra di 60, ieri altri due intercetti e gioca con un rb da quasi (siamo sulle 97) cento yards a partita. vero ieri per la seconda volta in stagione ha superato le 200 yards lanciate, ma giocava contro i cleveland browns e nel quarto quarto ha fatto scelte assai discutibili. a parte l'intercetto che ha portato all'unica segnatura dei browns ha fato un paio di incompleti consecutivi deleteri, quando era necessario tenere palla e congelare il gioco. l'ha ammesso pure lui. però forse ti riferivi alla penultima partita quella contro i raiders... siamo felici quando non fa danni. fa te come siamo messi...

Be certo io non vedo le partite di Denver, tranne quella quando avete giocato contro di noi...mi baso sui dati...sicuramente allora è cresciuto il numero di yards che porta avanti...,per quanto riguarda le scelte discutibili, non posso fare commenti, mi fido di te! :pollicesu:

Merriman si appella e spera di continuare a giocare:

Attorney David Cornwell said he believed Shawne Merriman tested positive for the steroid nandrolone, which is prohibited under the NFL's substance abuse policy. Cornwell said the substance was in a supplement Merriman has been taking. "He did not go into the back alley somewhere and put a needle in his butt for steroids," Cornwell said on Monday.
Merriman's attorney said the Chargers' outside linebacker failed a drug test because of a tainted supplement and will continue to play while appealing his four-game suspension.

A source said yesterday that Chargers LB Shawne Merriman's legal team will have the supplement in question tested to see whether there is a steroidal agent present. Another source said Merriman was “confused” by the positive result because he “knew what substances were banned” and “he reads labels.” A source close to Merriman said Merriman has been “a rock” but is distraught over the prospect of missing any games, and he wishes he could simply forfeit his entire salary instead of having to sit out. If Merriman is ultimately suspended, he will lose almost $73,000 of his $310,000 salary.

Chargers sign Gbaja-Biamila, waive Speegle

With Shaun Phillips out 2-4 weeks due to a strained calf, the Chargers were in need of depth at linebacker; preferably someone that knew their system. Enter Akbar Gbaja-Biamila.

The former San Diego State Aztec spent the entire offseason with the Chargers and was waived just prior to the start of the regular season. At the time, Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer said that Gbaja-Biamila had had a good training camp but became a victim of numbers.

The Chargers started the season with 10 linebackers on their 53-man roster. With Phillips out and Steve Foley lost for the season, the Bolts turned to a familiar face.

In order to make room for Gbaja-Biamila, the Chargers released Nick Speegle who had been on the roster for only the past two weeks.

Merriman's appeal is expected to be heard Nov. 7, which means he can play in the Chargers' next two games, both at home, against St. Louis and Cleveland. If the Chargers lose Merriman for four games, it'll be a huge blow to a defense that has lost starters Shaun Phillips and Igor Olshanksy to injuries. "I just know what I tested positive for, and that's nandrolone," Merriman said. "I'm still finding out information about it myself. Whatever it was, it definitely wasn't intentional at all."

Buona prova per quello che ho potuto vedere...abbiamo concesso troppo in difesa, invece in attacco strepitosi con un LT da paura...spero che Merriman si possa salvare in qualche modo perchè contro i Bengals e i Broncos ci serve assolutamente.

Buona prova di Rivers con circa 200 yards lanciate e un TD...

vittoria sui Marroni con 3TD di Tomlinson (172 y corse). Rivers non male con 211 y lanciate. senza Marriman si soffre un po' in difesa ma alla fine è 32-25
