Quasi due mesi dalla trade di Joe Thronton a San Jose e le cose iniziano a migliorare nettamente per i Bruins.
Nelle 26 gare con Jumbo Joe i Bruins subivano una media di 3.54 goal a partita. Dopo la trade subiscono "solo" 2.79.
Il differenziale e' sempre negativo, -0.30 (era -0.42 al momento della trade). Dalla trade e' pero' solo -0.17.
Axelsson sta giocando alla grande in difesa e goalie Thomas ha sfoderato qualche prestazione eccellente.
50 punti in 50 partite per ora garantiscono il nono posto a soli due punti dalla zona playoffs.
Restano 32 gare, tutte nella Eastern Time zone.
C'e' di nuovo ottimismo.

E c'è da dire che dopo un inizio grandioso Thonrton è un po' calato ultimamente negli Sharks..

Ora siamo al limite del ridicolo.
Tolto Raycroft che aveva preso tre gol in 15 tiri e' entrato Thomas, che quest'anno ha giocato davvero bene, ma...
su un facile rinvio, con il puck che stava avanzando lentamente verso di lui, gli si e' preso il bastone nel guanto e swwwiiish

Nota positiva: oltre alle firme di Thomas e PJ Axelsson entrambi per 3 anni - e' stato firmato un triennale con il D Matt Lashoff (scelta n. 22 del 2005).

Kessel being treated

The Bruins say rookie center Phil Kessel is being treated for a medical issue not related to hockey.

The announcement came today in a brief statement released by the Bruins at the request of Kessel's family. The statement did not disclose the medical issue and said there would be no update at this time on the 19-year-old's condition.

The statement also asked that the privacy of Kessel's family be respected.

Kessel was the Bruins' first choice, and the fifth player chosen overall, in the 2006 NHL entry draft. He's played in 27 games this season, scoring nine points on five goals and four assists.

The Madison, Wisconsin native came to Boston after playing one season for the University of Minnesota.
