Panthers WR Smith agrees to 3-year extension.
Smith, who turns 33 in May, signed a contract extension Tuesday that will likely keep him in Carolina at least through 2015 and likely for the remainder of his career.
A person familiar with the deal told the Associated Press that Smith will earn approximately $18 million in guaranteed money over the next three seasons. There is also a club option for the 2016 season.

Sto ragazzo si sta perdendo, a me piaceva un sacco, con dei limiti certo pero mi piaceva.

In realtà l'ultimo anno ai Bears ha disputato una buona stagione come back up, ed a Tampa è esattamente quello il suo ruolo, 1° in rotazione dietro a McCoy e Price.
Anzi sarà per lo più il sostituto di Price perchè nella difesa 4-3 il ruolo di Okoye come DT è molto più simile a quello rispetto che a McCoy.

Poi va beh, se fai riferimento alle sue potenzialità come 1° scelta di Houston hai assolutamente ragione, ha deluso, ma come back up la ritengo un'ottima firma.

Un back up scelto alla #10 non è che sta facendo sta gran carriera, per carità è ancora giovanissimo pero anche cambiare squadra ogni anno non è sintomo di grande fiducia in lui da parte dei coaching staff.

P.S. Non so a che cifre pero io fossi stato nei Texans ci avrei lavorato ancora sul ragazzo, sicuramente sarà stato un discorso economico la sua dipartita da Houston pero ripeto che mi piaceva il ragazzo.
