Che io sappia...le squadre fisse che giocano in casa il thanksgiving sono Dallas e Detroit, poi da qualche anno hanno aggiunto una partita in più per dare un senso ad nfl network, che però non ha una squadra "fissa", la ragione però ora mi sfugge.

Credo sia per una tradizione consolidata, ormai diventata regola, trasmettere partite casalinghe di Dallas e Detroit.

The Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys have played home games on Thanksgiving since 1934 and 1966, respectively, in a series called the Thanksgiving Classic. Beginning in 2006, the NFL added a third game on Thanksgiving night with a rotating host team.

The first owner of the Lions, G.A. Richards, started the tradition of the Thanksgiving Day game as a gimmick to get people to go to Lions football games, and to continue a tradition begun by the city's previous NFL teams.

In 1966, the Dallas Cowboys, who had been founded six years earlier, adopted the practice of hosting Thanksgiving games. It is widely rumored that the Cowboys sought a guarantee that they would regularly host Thanksgiving games as a condition of their very first one (since games on days other than Sunday were uncommon at the time and thus high attendance was not a certainty).

The two "traditional" Thanksgiving Day pro football games have then been in Detroit and Dallas. Because of TV network commitments, to make sure that both the AFC-carrying network and the NFC-carrying network got at least one game each, one of these games was between NFC opponents, and one featured AFC-NFC opponents. Thus, the AFC could showcase only one team on Thanksgiving, and the AFC team was always the visiting team.
Since 2006, a third NFL game on Thanksgiving has been played at night, airing on the NFL Network as part of its Thursday Night Football package. The Thanksgiving night game has no fixed opponents or conferences, enabling the league to freely choose whatever marquee match-up to feature on that night.

SportsBusinessDaily.com says the NFL is about to prove that the rich get richer, and then some.

The website says the league is close to an across-the-board renewal of TV deals that will boost rights fees by more than 60% and yield $24 billion over the next eight years.

The new deals would mean that CBS, NBC and Fox would pay an average of $1 billion a year to broadcast NFL games. Those networks' current deals end after the 2013 season and would be extended through the 2021 season, according to the website.

ESPN in September signed a new agreement with the NFL, at a 63% increase in fees. The other deals might be completed within a month, SportsBusinessDaily.com says.
