The NFL suspended San Diego Chargers Pro Bowl wide receiver Vincent Jackson three games for violating the league's personal conduct policy, a league source said Thursday.

The three-game suspension can be reduced upon appeal, but it is uncertain whether Jackson will appeal. He pleaded guilty in February to driving under the influence, his second conviction.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Chris Simms was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by marijuana, the New York Post reported Thursday.

According to the newspaper, Simms was stopped at a checkpoint in Manhattan at approximately 2 a.m. and admitted to officers that he had smoked marijuana in the car. Sources told the Post that Simms had red eyes and a flushed face and used slurred speech.

The Titans brought back Simms for a second stint by signing him to a contract in April. He played in one game for the team in 2008 and completed 1 of 2 passes.

Simms, who spent last season with the Denver Broncos, is 7-9 as a starter and has thrown for 3,117 yards and 12 touchdowns with 18 interceptions in his NFL career. He was a third-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2003 and spent five years with the team.

FOX Sports' Alex Marvez reports that the NFLPA has entered negotiations with commissioner Roger Goodell on a six-year Collective Bargaining Agreement that would extend through the 2016 season.
"We’re going to negotiate a six-year deal," said NFLPA director DeMaurice Smith. Smith is "adamant" the owners show their documented financial records before a new CBA is struck, but the mere fact that there's progress so early in the process is promising. Both sides have too much money to lose from a lockout. "There will be an agreement at some point," said Goodell. "Sometimes, these things don’t happen until you get a little closer to the end (of the CBA). That’s just the reality." Expect a deal to be finalized next winter. Jun. 30 - 3:15 pm et

Veramente il punto di partenza eravamo noi. E io non me lo ricordavo neanche così scarso quando era a St. Louis. Al punto da ricordare qualche tirata d'orecchio alla dirigenza dell'epoca che non l'aveva rifirmato. Ecco, qualche anno dopo, la prospettiva è un attimo cambiata.
