Re: Philadelphia Phillies - 2009 National League Champions
ancora infortuni!
Ruiz exits Phils game with right knee injury
Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz left Game 1 of Wednesday's day-night doubleheader against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in the fourth inning with a right knee injury. He is listed as day-to-day.
Ruiz, who entered the game leading the National League with a .481 on-base percentage, appeared to injure himself running. It could have happened when he reached first on a double play or running from first to third on a double from Wilson Valdez.
Paul Hoover, who is the only healthy catcher on the Phillies' roster, replaced Ruiz as a pinch-runner at third base.
The Phillies placed catcher Brian Schneider on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a strained left Achilles tendon.
Lidge set for checkup in Philadelphia
Phillies closer Brad Lidge said he would be concerned about his stiff right elbow only if it lingered a few days.
It has lingered.
The Phillies sent Lidge to Philadelphia on Wednesday to see team physician Michael Ciccotti on Thursday. Phillies assistant general manager Scott Proefrock said they have not placed Lidge on the 15-day disabled list. He said because the Phillies did not play Tuesday and do not play Thursday, they felt it was a good time to have Lidge examined.
"We just want to make sure what caused it," Proefrock said.
basta infortuni...................

Rollins back in action in Florida
Jimmy Rollins is back in action.
Rollins, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right calf, went 3-for-6 with two doubles Wednesday during an extended spring game in Bradenton, Fla. Rollins only hit and ran -- he did not play in the field -- but the Phillies said he reported no pain.
The Phillies are hopeful Rollins can rejoin the team during its next homestand.

Re: Philadelphia Phillies - 2009 National League Champions
Rollins' rehab assignment starts on Saturday
Shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right calf, is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Class A Clearwater on Saturday.
MRI shows no damage in Lidge's elbow
but did show inflammation in the joint.
Catcher Carlos Ruiz said that the sprained ligament in his right knee -- an injury he sustained on Wednesday in Colorado -- has improved, but he was only available on Friday night in an emergency situation.
Assistant general manager Scott Proefrock said that Ruiz should be ready to return to the lineup in "probably another day or so. It's just day to day."
Infielder Juan Castro, who has not started since May 5 because of an injured knee, is ready to return to the lineup, but manager Charlie Manuel started Wilson Valdez on Friday instead.
Left-hander J.A. Happ, who has been on the DL since April because of a forearm injury, threw on Thursday and continues to progress. Proefrock expects Happ to throw one more time before the team leaves Milwaukee.
"If everything goes well, sometime during the homestand we'll get him a bullpen [session]," Proefrock said.
