Chris "Timeout" Webber

In April 1993, future Sacramento Kings star forward Chris Webber and his University of Michigan teammates returned to the NCAA national championship after losing in 1992. With 11 seconds left in the game and Michigan well-positioned to tie or go ahead, Webber called a time-out - a good idea, but for one small problem: Michigan had no time-outs left. North Carolina promptly sank two technical foul shots, and Michigan lost the championship. Again.

Pure Shaq

Shaquille O'Neal was frequently upbraided by coach Chuck Daly for his tardiness. One day, he took drastic measures to avoid being late for yet another practice. Shaq's solution? He appeared on the court wearing his shoes... and nothing else.

Hank Luisetti: Bee Stung

Stanford University basketball star Hank Luisetti was famed for his (then unusual) one-handed shot. Though his first appearance in New York's Madison Square Garden drew a full house, Luisetti's team was considered incapable of defeating Clair Bee's Long Island University champions, undefeated in their last three seasons. "No one is going to beat us one-handed," Bee declared.

Sure enough, Luisetti proceeded to score fifteen points, leading Stanford to a stunning 45-31 upset. "I hate to think how badly they'd have beaten us," Bee remarked, "if he'd used both hands!"

- Bill e Wilt si sono scontrati in ben 143 game: Russell conduce per 57-37 in regular season e conduce sempre per 29-20 ai PO playoffs (Con Boston che vince ben 7 delle 8 serie!).

- Nei 94 incontri di RS Chamberlain outscored Russell 30 a 14.2 per game e outrebounded Bill 28.2 a 22.9;
nei 49 incontri di PO, Wilt outscored Bill 25.7 a 14.9 e outrebounded Bill 28 a 24.7.

- Negli anni che giocarono insieme Russell vinse 9 championship rings mentre Wilt solamente uno.

I received a technical foul on the first play of a game one year while I was coaching at UNLV, but it was the right thing to do.

It was Senior Day during the 1991 season, and I had six seniors I wanted to start. We were playing UC Irvine and I went to their coach, Bill Mulligan, and told him of my plan.

I didn't want to disrespect the other team because Bill was a great coach and a friend of mine, but I had to get those seniors the recognition they deserved.

The official called the technical after the tipoff. I didn't worry about giving up the point because we were so good that season.

Numeri Dipper, mai come in questo caso sterili numeri (come dirà lo stesso Wilt delle prestazioni di Barry nelle finals perse dai suoi Warriors)..dipper :D..anche perchè a livello assoluto Russell detiene i vari record di Rb ai PO..ed overall "The point was not to score, but to win" ..e qui siamo 9-1, in assoluto 11-2..
