Scherzi a parte, è un rinnovo che mi lascia sorpreso solamente per le cifre, ma non per la durata o per la firma stessa. Rappresenta l'uomo immagine, l'uomo franchigia, quello che è Pujols per i Cardinals...non poteva andarsene. E sono contento perchè Minnesota dimostra di voler esserci al 100% nella lotta al titolo MLB, perchè Mauer non credo che avrebbe firmato per lui e altri 8 mestieranti.

ehm.... veramente noi saremmo sempre alla ricerca di un prima base....

... si si ok, anche di un catcher e il target primario ha preferito rimanere dov'era solo per comodità!

per cosa poi.... 8 anni al freddo!!!!

la scelta di rimanere in minnesota è stata shockante solo per i giovani. noi nati negli anni 70 che abbiamo visto Brenda tornare a minneapolis dopo aver fatto il liceo a Beverly Hills, non ci siamo stupiti.

Beh, incredibile. Fra Duffy e Desme abbiamo perso due eccellenti prospetti per ritiro quest'anno.

Ma cosa spinge un ragazzo promettente ad andarsene da tanti soldi, successo e dal giocare per vivere? Jeremy Brown lo ha fatto proprio quando era arrivato in MLB. Duffy e Desme erano più lontani ma anche più promettenti. Per Desme posso capire la vocazione, che a volte è forte ed inspiegabile per chi "è fuori", ma per il resto boh...

Non capisco. Magari saranno più felici nella vita facendo altro, ma in quel caso non è meglio "sacrificare" 4-5 anni, fare un sacco di soldi per dare tranquillità e certezza alla propria famiglia (presente o futura) prima di passare a fare ciò che si vuole?

In bocca al lupo a Duffy... magari è veramente una situazione tipo quella di Greinke, ma è già il secondo di questa off-season e sono estremamente sorpreso.

Comunque in qualche maniera c'entra Dayton Moore di sicuro. Una cosa aveva fatto bene... trovare prospetti, e questi si ritirano pure.
