Mike Singletary has no plans to attend a workout for cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones Friday in New Orleans, a source close to Singletary confirmed today. A report last week said that Singletary was one of the coaches expected to be on hand. In fact, the 49ers are holding their premiere fundraising event, the Celebrity Winter & Wine Fest, at Lake Tahoe this weekend, and Singletary will attend that.

Cornerback Karl Paymah, a native Californian, had no desire to remain in Minnesota for a second year. He wanted to return to the Left Coast because of the more-favorable weather.

When asked if he checked weather.com before making his decision to sign a one-year contract with the 49ers, Paymah answered, "I checked common sense-dot-com. It was a pretty simple decision."

He added about his stay in Minnesota, "It's not somewhere you want to stay for a long period of time. . . . One day I stuck outside my house for 10 minutes. Thought I was going to die."  :lol2:
