Rich Aurilia isn't ready to retire, reports Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News. The 38-year-old corner infielder is seeking a minor league deal, and he'd like to play for the Yankees or Mets. Baggarly notes that Aurilia and new Yankee Randy Winn are old friends.

I don't suppose this is the first time that a team has traded for a player making $4 million and immediately designated him for assignment. But it sure doesn't happen often. I'm sure I'm missing something here, but if the A's wanted Adam Rosales so badly, why not just send Miles and $1.3 million to Cincinnati and let the Reds deal with the Taveras paperwork?

With all this, the only real question is this: Is Adam Rosales worth $1.3 million?

Still, it's an odd way to acquire a utility infielder.

Street's newest blog post implies that an agreement with Bedard has been reached, though the writer does not say that specifically. The quote: "I have now heard that the deal is a one-year $1.5 million base salary contract that includes a shipload of incentives."

ho letto che dovrebbe ritornare non prima della pausa per l'ASG.
certo che se tornasse subito forte, avrebbero per la parte calda della RS un trio a livelli eccezionali! per fortuna sn nell'altra lega, problemi di Angel's & company!

Bedard a 1.1 non male, può salire fino a 8M circa. C'è chi dice che possa tornare a fine Maggio, ma ci credo poco.. Avrei preferito Harden mille volte, ma vabbe..
Mi sa che abbiamo chiuso qui il mercato, a meno di qualche trade alla Z (Lopez?)..
