Certo non è la nostra musica preferita, quella che suona l'orchestra diretta da Brees, ci sono i violini Bush Thomas Colston, e i tromboni in linea, e poi ci sono i vari sharper Wilma Fujita
Ma quando si arriva al ballo di fine stagione non ci si può tirare indietro. E poi dobbiamo aspettarci che il bullo di turno voglia metterci i bastoni tra le ruote, come nel miglior college film americano.

Facile aspettarsi per Manning lo stesso trattamento ricevuto da Favre e da Warner, botte botte e ancora botte.
D'altronde quella del sette non sarà una danza, ma una partita di football, e il football non è un "contact sport, ma un collision sport" come diceva un tale che se ne intendeva.

Manning e soprattutto Caldwell dovranno approntare una buona OL sui passaggi. Mentre la DL dovrà fare la differenza, certo contro i tripponi dei saints non è affatto facile, ma Freeney e Mathis dovranno incidere sulla gara, altrimenti il peso sarà tutto sulle secondarie, cosa che per i colts è bene evitare. L'ago della bilancia poi sarà il cronometro, lasciare tempo e spazio ai Saints è un errore che una squadra esperta come i Colts non può fare. Il segreto contro l'attacco formidabile di NE nel 2006 fu proprio quello: non lasciare che abbiano il pallone loro, tenerlo tra le mani noi e segnare punti sul tabellone.
L'esperienza inutile dirlo è dalla nostra, facciamone buon uso.

The Saints applied several "remember me" shots to Favre on Sunday, prompting many a Vikings fan to utter a phrase that for broadcast television purposes would be edited to sound like "forget you."  One such hit to Favre's legs didn't draw a flag, even though NFL V.P. of officiating Mike Pereira admitted last night that a roughing the passer penalty should have been called.

And Williams won't be reeling in his troops for the Super Bowl.  Instead, it sounds like he's willing to risk a few 15-yard walk-offs if it means that Manning eventually will be carted off the field.

"When you put too much of that type of worry on a warrior's mind, he doesn't play all out," Williams said.  "If it happens, it happens.  And the only thing you'd like for me to say is that if it happens you hope he doesn't get back up and play again."

You hope he doesn't get back up and play again.  (We wonder what Archie thinks about his former team's objectives?)

In other words, "We'll gladly trade a penalty or two if it means that we get to see Curtis Painter instead of Peyton Manning."

In other words, the NFL should consider fining not only the players when dirty hits are applied to quarterbacks, but also their coaches.

in pratica l'articolo ricorda che la difesa dei saints durante i play-off ha assestato diversi colpi sia a warner che favre, e che l'obiettivo tutto sommato è di farlo anche con manning

non si va con l'idea di azzopparlo, sarebbe scorretto, ma se lo si azzoppa è meglio. anche a costo di beccarsi qualche flag per violenza non necessaria

Spero che venga fuori il lato positivo (per noi) di questa intervista: attenzione massima degli arbitri quando un difensore si avvicina a Peyton e parecchi roughing the passer regalati. Chissà che dopo non comincino a evitare colpi inutili.

Quanto hai riportato fa parte di quella tattica non scritta ma ben nota, se per ''pura sfortuna'' un DL dei Saints scivolasse sulla caviglia del QB le conseguenze sarebbero irrimediabili...

Sono comunque convinto che il match vinto contro Minnie abbia lasciato qualche strascico e che nella finale ci saranno più occhi e diciamo una ''particolare'' attenzione per la tanto stracciata, abusata e dimenticata regola del ''roughin the passer''.

Ovvio che più sapranno giocare al limite i difensori dei Saints più l'ago della bilancia sarà dalla loro parte, tutto sta a vedere come sarà gestito questo limite.

Basta vedere la partita con i Jets, la pressione lo ha messo in difficoltà inizialmente, ma ha ricevuto, se non sbaglio, solo un colpo duro, o forse nemmeno quello.

E sotto questo punto di vista, se i Jets sono arrivati a Manning solo all'inizio non penso che i Saints ci arrivino più spesso. Io agirei in modo diverso, punterei più a coprire i soliti 4 (Wayne, Garçon, Collie e Clark) con qualche DB in più, piuttosto che mandare gente, che puntualmente arriverà qualche decimo di secondo in ritardo, contro Manning.

Io non mi esprimo perche' non ne ho le capacita',dico soltanto che ho abbstanza fiducia nella squadra e credo sara' una partita molto combattuta.
