The Cowboys resumed practice at Valley Ranch on Tuesday, but did so without two key players. Wide receiver Sam Hurd, the star of training camp who has played well in two preseason games, did not practice because of a nagging quad injury.

Defensive end Marcus Spears did not practice as well. His injury is still unknown, although he appeared to be favoring an ankle or foot.

Ma infatti questa pre-season mi ha stupito. Nel senso, come G ha fatto schifo, ma in effetti lui sarebbe il backup del centro, ed ero convinto che la rifirma per un altro anno fosse dovuta per la sua pseudo-versatilità, cioè sei il secondo C e se proprio serve ti mettiamo anche a tappare un buco in G. E invece sta giocando persino peggio in mezzo, tant'è che si cercano altre soluzioni adesso. Un mezzo disastro insomma..

While they had room on the roster, the Cowboys decided to release Justin Rogers, who was put on the waived/injured list. Rogers didn’t play last week missed all week of practice with tendinitis in his knee.

Preoccupazione per Williams

ARLINGTON, Texas -- On a night meant for showing off their team and their new stadium, the Dallas Cowboys provided a bit more excitement than intended Thursday.

Wide receiver Roy Williams injured his left shoulder on a goal-line collision with cornerback Orlando Scandrick. Williams was down for longer than normal, then was examined by athletic trainers and shouted in anger as he headed into the locker room before the workout ended.

Williams might have been upset because he and Scandrick keep getting tangled up in practices.

During training camp, Scandrick -- who is competing with Mike Jenkins for a starting job -- hit Williams hard enough to knock his helmet off (the chin strap wasn't buckled). And Scandrick was covering Williams again Thursday on a play in which the wide receiver landed hard and sprained his wrist.

The Cowboys are counting on Williams to replace Terrell Owens as quarterback Tony Romo's top target.

Immediately after the workout, Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said he had no information about Williams' status, later adding, "I don't know that he's injured. Just wait and see."

"He banged his shoulder a little bit, and we're checking on him," Phillips added. "I imagine they're going to X-ray it, and we're going to see."

If Scandrick was a little too aggressive for a practice conducted in helmets but no pads, he might have a good excuse: There were 26,460 fans watching at Cowboys Stadium. The video boards were in full use, and there even was a halftime performance by cheerleaders, giving it a far different feel than any other helmet-and-no-pads workout.

alla base di questa rottura ci sarebbero degli screzi con il coaching staff/JJ;
di quello che erano le valutazioni su di lui, non dovrebbe aver problemi per trovarsi una squadra

vista la situazione WRs(out RW11 e S.Hurd) per la partita con i 49ers ci sarà molto spazio per Austin, Ogletree e Stanback; il primo avrà da dimostrare di cosa è capace visto il parlare intorno a lui nella offseason
Ogletree, se mette sù delle belle prestazioni, può "scalare" la posizione
Stanback lo vedo ad un bivio, se non farà vedere cose egrege NON lo vedo a Valley Ranch ancora per molti giorni

Non dovrebbe essere utilizzato l' ultimo arrivato, l' OL Preston.

Stanback si è scavato la fossa.
Buone le corse con MBIII e Felix e in parte i lanci anche se, coe dici tu, Romo deve sempre metterci del suo...l'intercetto a me sebra un lancio totalmente sbagliato boh.
Buona mi è parsa la pressione della DL.
Per il resto secondarie pressocchè ridicole...e qualche indecenza varia vista qua e la (DeAngelo Smith...).

In definitiva partita persa agli ultimi secondi ma forse è proprio questo che fa incazzare con una interferenza su un lancio lunghissimo presa da fessi e poi è sembrato di vedere la difesa della fine stagione scorsa...arrendevole e rassegnata alla segnatura
