Magari giocherete una ibrida, considerato che lo stesso Raji a Boston College in coppia con un altro mastodonte faceva onde in mezzo...e che Kampman non sembra molto convinto del passaggio ad outside LB.
Si faceva il paragone coi Ravens, dove Ngata - quando c'è Kelly Gregg (che l'anno scorso ha saltato praticamente tutta la stagione) - gioca più da DT da fronte 4.

...è dall'inizio che si dice che raji potrebbe giocare snap da NT e altri da DE...si dice anche per farlo crescere di più e cmq per sfruttare pickett che così vecchio non lo è ancora...nelle parole dei coaches il NT titolare sembrerebbe essere pickett anche se già nei nickel e dime package si dovrebbe passare ad una linea a 4 o cmq a un raji NT
Sì, credo che sostanzialmente la nickel e la dime saranno da 4-3, e che non si vedranno formazioni tipo le 2-5 che alcune squadre da 3-4 integrale a volte usano.
Secondo me bisognerà vedere se si confonde di più l'attacco avversario o la difesa stessa. :D

In sintesi, Capers e il LB coach Green sono rimasti molto soddisfatti del lavoro svolto nell'ultimo minicamp, sotto i 40 gradi del Lambeau. In particolare del lavoro di Kampman, che sembra essere la pedina chiave nella linea a 4 e che ha smentito ogni voce di insofferenza alla 3-4, imparando velocemente (al college era uno studente modello) a correre dietro le tracce di ricevitori e tight end, anche per 20 y e oltre, grazie ad un eccellente condizione fisica, che dovrebbe permettergli di superare l'empasse del cambiamento di ruolo. E si dice che il non dover combattere con un tackle ad ogni azione, gli consentirebbe di rimanere "fresco" per rushare a sua volta quando si presenteranno schemi difensivi con coperture nel backfield differenti. Un'altra cosa, sembrerebbe che il secondo anno Jeremy Thompson possa essere davanti a Matthews per il posto a destra.

in tutto questo a me preoccupa molto Collins, che pare sia piuttosto indietro e non stia facendo il professionista al 100% perchè scazzato dalla sua situazione contrattuale.... speriamo in bene.
cmq lessi tempo fa che si stava provando Thompson come DE con risultati soddisfacenti.
Thompson sembrava il classico end appena troppo leggero per la 4-3 ma fisicamente prestante. Credo che la 3-4 ne possa fare presto un giocatore importante!

Copio qui una meravigliosa e cattivissima idea di un tifoso dei Packers postata su un forum americano...è una cosa infattibile, ma Brett se la meriterebbe.
"If Brett Favre goes thru with his scheme to play against the Packers for the Minnesota Vikings this season the Packers should move ahead to retire his Green Bay number at the Minnesota game at Lambeau in November. He's obviously not going to play for the Packers again and no one in Green Bay is going to be issued #4 so there's no need to wait for Favre to retire as a player for this occasion. They don't need Favre's consent for this. The Green & Gold No. 4 is the property of the Packers and the possession of the franchise and its fans. Just announce that it's going to take place on that date and it should be convenient since Favre and his family & entourage are all going to be in town for the game anyway. The Green Bay Packers have signed fifth-round fullback Quinn Johnson, leaving them only two first-round draft picks to sign before training camp.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed Wednesday. Johnson appeared in 40 career games at Louisiana State. Even before his first full-contact practice, Johnson had impressed Packers coaches with his potential for physical play.
First-rounders B.J. Raji and Clay Matthews III have yet to sign with the team. The Packers' first training camp practice is Aug. 1.

un pò tutti ne parlano come di un giocatore monodimensionale che però il suo lo fa bene...cmq ci serviva.
a me cmq preoccupa moltissimo la O-Line, c'è da sperare che Giacomini sia davvero pronto per la NFL sennò è dura.
