a parte il problema di Delgado che per come stava giocando ci serviva eccome.... mi sembra che dalle dichiarazionei di Wrght e Beltran emerga uno sconforo totale. Certo non è stato il massimo giocare senza SS di ruolo e vedere il cuscino di prima più battuto di una strada piena di donne di facili costumi... però diamine ragazzi, diamoci una svegliata!! Non saremo i primi e neanche gli ultimi a dovrùer fronteggiare emergenze. In questi casi non ci si piange addosso, si quintuplicano le forze!

Tanto piu' che con la tripla di Pagan poteva arrivarci passando con tutta calma per il right field pavillion e farsi un dodger dog...

Non so se il nostro allenatore di terza abbia tante colpe. Rivediamo la scena. Pagan batte profondissimo, sicuro un doppio ma può starci anche il triplo. Church mi parte dalla prima base appena sente lo schiocco della mazza sulla palla. Io, allenatore di terza, mi devo preoccupare di valutare se la battuta mi permette di far andare Church a casa. Quando Ryan è a metà tra seconda e terza decido che può arrivare a casa e gli do il segnale roteando come un forsennato il braccio. Ma appena Church arriva nei pressi della terza io mi devo anche occupare di Pagan, no? E quindi, spero che Church arrivi salvo e devo anche decidere sa far venire Pagan in terza o fermarlo in seconda. Non penso che a quel punto io possa anche guardare se Church tocca o non tocca la base. Cavolo, è un professionista!! Le basi si toccano! Che poi la corsa di Ryan fosse quella più importante ai fini del risultato nessuno lo nega ma secondo me la responsabilità maggiore è di Church.

finalmente rientra jose ma purtroppo, non cambia il trend negativo..
maine si prende un bel 3 run HR al sesto, la L e ciao ciao a tutti...
6 partite e 57 inning che i nostri beniamini non riescono a battere una pallina fuori dal campo...
e' un momento in cui gira tutto storto, spero proprio che ne usciremo alla svelta...
la squadra c'e' ed e' anche forte, deve solo trovare un po' di continuita' e di convinzione nei propri mezzi..
speriamo di non dover rimpiangere troppo quel maledetto errore di Church...

Perdiamo anche la seconda contro i Dodgers. Purtroppo Maine sta dimostrando di non tenere più di 4-5 inning poi implode e crolla definitivamente. L'HR di Blake ci sta tutto perchè quella palla lì ferma in mezzo al piatto sarebbe stata appetibile per tutti. Non mi piace come sta lanciando John. Me lo ricordavo più in controllo e con un po' più di sangue freddo. Ma va bè... in questo momento va così.
Ieri giornata di vacanza per le nostre mazze ed infatti è lo stesso Maine a battere due dei 3 RBI... Con anche Sheff a riposo le mazze pesanti rimangono Wright e Beltran e non sempre gli si possono chiedere i miracoli.

Inguardabile Martinez al piatto, troppo moscio Church, troppo normale Santos. Torna Reyes, buona notizia.

Qusta notte Hernandez - Weaver. Speriamo di portare a casa almeno questa perchè poi ci aspetta un W-end niente male a Boston....

LOS ANGELES -- When the Mets' charter plane set a course for Boston late Wednesday night, Jose Reyes was on it. But he will not remain with his teammates for long.

Reyes and trainer Ray Ramirez planned on hitching a flight back to New York on Thursday after the shortstop aggravated a right calf injury that has plagued him for the past eight days. Attempting to play through the pain, Reyes instead may be headed to the disabled list.

"He felt some pain and discomfort," Mets manager Jerry Manuel said. "It was obvious that he was struggling. But how much damage he had done or was it just a shock of pain, we don't know."

Reyes, admittedly playing at less than 100 percent, felt significant pain during his at-bat in the third inning Wednesday. And while running up the line on a ground ball to the right side, he said he felt even more pain than he had in recent days.

Reyes did not join his teammates on the field for the bottom of the inning, replaced at shortstop by Ramon Martinez.

"It's the same problem that I've had the last couple of days," Reyes said. "It still bothers me. It's still painful."

Complicating the situation is the fact that regular backup Alex Cora is already on the disabled list with a torn ligament in his right thumb and could be out for several weeks. Martinez, forced to fly across the country and start Monday's game with both Reyes and Cora injured, is hardly an everyday player.

The Mets have no obvious solutions on their active roster or in their Minor Leagues, which could become a significant problem if Reyes lands on the disabled list. Already playing without regular first baseman Carlos Delgado and catcher Brian Schneider, the Mets have been exposed in recent games for their lack of offensive production.

"It's not a good feeling," Mets setup man J.J. Putz said of seeing Reyes injured. "He's kind of the spark plug of this team. He gets everyone rolling and any day that we don't have him in the lineup definitely hurts.

Which is why the Mets will be hoping for good news on Thursday. Reyes originally felt what the Mets termed a "stiff right calf" prior to last Thursday's game against the Braves. In the midst of five straight games on the bench, that diagnosis morphed into a mild case of tendinitis.

It wasn't until Tuesday that Reyes finally felt well enough to play through his pain. But now, after aggravating the injury, Reyes said that it hurt simply to stand.

"I don't know about disabled list," Reyes said. "We have to see the doctor first and see if I'm going to be on the disabled list or take a couple more days and see how I'm feeling.

"I've been feeling it all the time. I just played because I want to play. But that thing doesn't feel right at all."

Minaya intervieni sul mercato, perché io i Mets con Ramon Martinez e Angel Pagan non li voglio vedere.

Ramon Martinez è stato davvero inguardabile e poi non può giocare SS... Certo che li ora abbiamo un buco enorme. E non è come sostituire un prima base.

Tra la'ltro Murphy in difesa in prima ha fatto davvero bene, almeno tre giocate difficili tutte a buon fine. Si vede che è un infield....
