Secondo me avete fatto un affarone con Shipley al settimo. Magari il centro che cercavate può essere proprio lui!

Se hanno - tra virgolette - intenzioni serie su Shipley devono tenerlo a roster, perchè se lo metti in practice squad appena iniziano gli infortuni c'è il rischio che te lo portino via. La difficoltà nel "garantirgli" un posto nei 53 è che lui può giocare solo da centro - braccia troppo corte per una guardia - e questo per un back-up è un grosso svantaggio. Per adesso il ragazzo, essendo nato a una ventina di chilometri da Pittsburgh, non sta nella pelle.

Beh se lo spazio salariale liberato dal contratto di Hines non è sufficiente significa che hanno intenzione di fare qualcosa di più che limitarsi a firmare i rookie: guardando quello che (non) è arrivato dal draft, la mia ipotesi è che si accingano a fare un tentativo per prolungare Casey Hampton.

Leggendo il Post oggi appare evidente che è Foote ad aver chiesto di andar via, perchè ormai si sente un two-down linebacker e Timmons è destinato a panchinarlo. Stiamo cercando di ricavarci qualcosa, ma non è facile visto che ormai tutti sanno che il taglio è imminente. Taglio o trade che sia andremo a liberare circa 2.9mil $ di cap.

Situazione molto incerta:

Foote said Colbert told him that the Steelers are trying to trade the eighth-year veteran, but that they have not committed to releasing him if a deal with another team cannot be worked out. When asked if he expects to be released if he is not traded, Foote said, "That's the question I posed, and (Colbert) said that's up to (coach) Mike Tomlin. He said he doesn't know."

Il topic su Steeler Nation che ne dava notizia aveva nel primo post un link ad un articolo su Steelers.com che poi è stato rimosso dal sito

McDonald, 28, has never produced outside of a Mike Martz offense and isn't a great bet to make the Steelers. Rookie Mike Wallace cost a high draft pick and is faster. McDonald isn't bumping Limas Sweed off the roster.

Detto questo a me non dispiacerebbe avere ocho seis, 'Tonio, Sweed, McDonald e Wallace a roster.

Shaun McDonald c'è: non me ne voglia Mike Wallace, ma questa è un'assicurazione reale in caso Sweed abbia ulteriori problemi di crescita.
Iniziato il rookie camp, tutti presenti tranne Larry Foote - decisione presa di comune accordo con la franchigia - di cui ormai si parla già come ex.

Tra gli undrafted FA il giocatore più interessante sembra Ramon Foster, mastodontico tackle da Tennessee che ha sostanzialmente dichiarato di aver scelto gli Steelers perchè pensa di avere un'occasione importante con diversi giocatori di linea, inclusi i due tackle titolari, sotto contratto solo fino al termine del 2009.

A funny play happened in team drills Friday when undrafted rookie receiver Steven Black of Memphis went across the middle against the first-team defense. Backup quarterback Charlie Batch hit Black right in the numbers when a hard-charging James Harrison scared Black so much that he dropped the ball. Even in non-contact drills, the Pro Bowl linebacker can intimidate.

beh...lui per DE titolare opposto a Smith intendeva proprio al posto di Brett Keisel.

cmq nn abbiate fretta...Keisel è validissimo e sta bene lì dove sta...Hood nel futuro entrerà in rotazione proprio con i nostri due DE titolari permettendogli di tirare il fiato...il sostituto di Hampton lo draftiamo l'anno prossimo
