Fox, according to a source, agreed to a two-year, $1.8 million deal that included a $380,000 signing bonus. The 27-year-old linebacker came to the Steelers in 2008 and helped out as one of the key players on special teams.

Quindi Fox sulla carta sarebbe il back-up di Farrior e Timmons quello di Foote?

Sempre pensato che fosse il contrario e con la sua rifirma vedevo - e vedo ancora - Fox come il favorito al posto di Larry una volta che il contratto di quest'ultimo arrivi a scadenza.
Penso che quest'anno possa dirci la parola definitiva su "cosa farà da grande" LT3. Già adesso si può escludere che sia stato un investimento sbagliato. Le qualità del ragazzo sono sotto gli occhi di tutti, basta vedere quante cose LeBeau gli chieda di fare (e quante gli riescano). Tecnicamente non può considerarsi un titolare, ma non mi sorprenderebbe sapere cha ha giocato pochi snap meno di Foote; ovviamente i numeri ne risentono (65 tackle nel 2008 conditi da 5 sack, 1 int, 3 pd) ma non si può negare che gli avversari abbiano cominciato a sentirne la presenza. Ammesso che Farrior tenga a questi livelli e che si trovi un altro disposto a prendersi i vaffanculo che s'è preso Foote, Timmons potrebbe anche rimanere per un pò l'uomo delle missioni speciali. L'errore grosso a mio parere sarebbe quello di fargli prendere peso perchè in realtà quello che fa Foote è un lavoro sottovalutato, serve qualcuno all'altezza e bla bla bla...per favore NO!!! Questo qui ha la velocità di una safety e ti arriva addosso come un tir: almeno finchè è ancora un ragazzino lasciamogli fare il lavoro per il quale madre natura l'ha costruito.

Vediamo se ne esce con un contratto; potrebbe aver trovato la soluzione ideale, con un qb (Luke McCown) inesperto appena designato titolare, ma che ancora deve affrontare l'esame del campo.

Byron Leftwich left Tampa without a contract Thursday night.
The St. Petersburg Times, which reported earlier in the day that the sides were talking "earnestly," is now hearing that the Bucs are unlikely to sign Leftwich. The team seems willing to wait until after the draft to add a fourth quarterback. At this point, Leftwich's most likely destination is back in Pittsburgh.

E Bouchette oggi scrive che ha ricevuto un'offerta dagli Steelers, un biennale, ma lui preferirebbe un solo anno di contratto; sinceramente non ci ho mai sperato, ma a questo punto pare davvero ci sia la possibilità di rivedere Leftwich in black & gold.

Comunque accadono cose strane: Dan Orlovsky firma un triennale coi Texans da nove milioni e Byron Leftwich non riesce a trovarsi una squadra.

magari il ragazzo voleva più garanzie sul suo ruolo, e magari gli è stato risposto sei il secondo, vediamo come va quello lì
però sicuramente come dicevi tu è mooooooolto più facile un fallimento di quello lì piuttosto che di Godsend

According to Harrison's agent, the deal could be announced as soon as early next week. The length is unknown, but the total value is expected to be around $45 million. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year turns 31 next month, so it's a good bet that his new contract will be front-loaded.

a me piacerebbe un contratto di quest'entità spalmato su 4 anni, ma realisticamente parlando credo sia di 3 con 35 M garantiti.

Troppo garantito bro.
Il contratto di Polamalu - firmato nel 2007 - vale 33mil con 15 di garantito (cinque anni) ed è questo che va preso come riferimento...36mil di garantito li ha presi Ben col contrattone, ma appunto è Ben.
