Alcune voci di mercato su Pedro e Peavy.

Il primo sembra aver confidato ad un amico di aver intenzione di lanciare anche quest'anno nelle Majors. Il problema, come riportato più volte, è che l'ex vincitore del Cy Young Award chiede un contratto intorno ai 5 milioni di dollari.

Le ultime voci lo danno vicino agli Angels:

I Brewers invece sembrano interessati a Peavy e il suo general manager Doug Melvin fa sapere che durante la stagione potrebbero cercare di portarlo nel Wisconsin, con una mossa simile a quella fatta per portare Sabathia al Miller Park nel finale della scorsa stagione.

Melvin said the Sabathia deal was compared to the famous in-season trades of Rick Sutcliffe from Cleveland to the Cubs in 1984 and Doyle Alexander from Atlanta to Detroit in 1987.

Nats interested in Pedro

Nationals acting General Manager Mike Rizzo confirmed Friday that his team does in fact have some interest in current free agent pitcher Pedro Martinez, the Washington Post reported.

FoxSports.com reported earlier this week that Martinez might be willing to sign with a team within the next few weeks - provided a team meets his price. He is said to be seeking up to $5 million.

"Early on we had mild interest," Rizzo told the Washington Post, "and I would say it's probably still at a mild interest. If the price were right we'd consider it, just to give us a little more depth. Now I feel good about our rotation; they're young, but I think the upside of the staff is really good. But Pedro would have a good stabilizing effect just because of his experience level and his willingness to be a teacher and a mentor to the young guys. Thisguy is a Hall of Fame pitcher who knows how to prepare himself and get ready for games, and that's how I would describe our interest level."

non credo che i CWS cedano Beckham (come PTBNL dato che non può essere scambiato per 1 anno dopo la sua firma, che era ad Agosto dell' anno scorso).

Immagino che Pabs sarà contento...dopo i Cards sulla black-list ci sono subito i White Sox, no?!

Secondo SI.com la cosa pare essere ufficiale, si attende solo di sapere il parere di Peavy e la sua no-trade clause. Non sono però ancora noti i giocatori che passerebbero ai Padres.
