ESPN - Cornerback Bryant McFadden has left the Super Bowl champion Steelers for the Cardinals, having signed a two-year deal with the club worth $10 million.

He'll make $5 million each season, with a source indicating that the entire salary for 2009 is guaranteed.

Per la verità abbiamo acquistato Wilson, forse la migliore safety sul mercato e perso Hill e Goodman, che comunque è un bel perdere.

Alcuni ex allenatori provano a riciclarsi nella nuova UFL: ai nomi Ted Cotrell (che allenerà la squadra di New York), Jim Fassel (Las Vegas), Jim Haslett (Orlando) si è aggiunto quello di Dennis Green che allenerà a San Francisco team. Per lui è un ritorno nella Baia perché era stato allenatore di 49ers negli anni '80 sotto Walsh (

) e qualche anno fa si era parlato di lui anche per la posizione di HC.

Rams agreed to terms with SS James Butler on a four-year, $14 million contract. Another $3 million is available through incentives.
Butler emerged as a starter for the Giants in 2007. The former undrafted free agent is an imposing specimen at 6'3/215, knows Steve Spagnuolo's system, and is a force against the run. He's not great in coverage, however, and St. Louis' pass rush is unlikely to give Butler as much recovery time as he had in New York. Butler, 26, can't be much worse than Corey Chavous, but he's also unlikely to be as effective with the Rams as he was as a Giant.

Matt Jones will be jailed through Sunday after violating a plea deal stemming from his July 2008 arrest for cocaine possession by consuming alcohol.
Given the choice by a judge, Jones opted to serve time over entering a six week drug treatment program that would've sidelined him for all of OTAs. It'll be interesting to see what the Jags do. Jones is easily the team's top wideout, but new GM Gene Smith seems to be aiming for a cleaner image.

Falcons agreed to terms with LB Mike Peterson on a three-year contract.
Peterson played for Mike Smith in Jacksonville and knows the scheme, but the 33-year-old has declined badly the past two seasons and would probably fit best in a versatile backup role. For now, Peterson figures to be penciled in on the weak side, with Stephen Nicholas and Coy Wire competing opposite him. Outside linebacker remains a major need area in Atlanta.

Vick potrebbe tornare, anche non in NFL
The Sports XChange's Howard Balzer reports that the UFL intends to pursue suspended Falcons QB Michael Vick.
Vick might need the Falcons to release him for this to happen. They could also invoke language in Vick's contract that bars him from joining another league. Still, the UFL would be a good place for Vick to get back into football shape. His body needs to get used to taking hits again.

The Steelers are reportedly "convinced" that free agent Joey Galloway can still run well enough to be a useful receiver.
Pittsburgh is only expected to offer a one-year deal for the veteran minimum, but Galloway won't get much more anywhere else. Galloway has already visited the Patriots. New England would give him a better chance to start.
