Ma i 34 garantiti dove li metti? Quelli anche se non avesse giocato mezza partita li avrebbe presi lo stesso. Il signor Ryan avrebbe preso quei famosi incentivi in più rispetto al suo contratto.

Lui, quest'anno, si è messo in tasca un pacco di soldi spaventoso. Inoltre, come tutti i contratti, il peso maggiore del salario va alla fine perchè, in caso di taglio, non avresti molta dead money.

Non ne sono sicuro, ma ho letto che i 34 garantiti vadano comunque elargiti a fine contratto, oppure subito nel caso di taglio.

Io punto molto su O'Connell è stato preso molto in alto, cosa che non era mai successa con Belichick. Con i mezzi fisici e il braccione che ha possiamo aspettarci qualcosa di buono!

A me è piaciuto Meriwheater come SS, magari non ha il colpo letale come Harrison ma se la cava. Invece l'ho visto più in difficoltà quando doveva coprire (vedere partita con i Jets :Keller: :3td&15:).

Io preferirei una bella Free Safety che sappia coprire bene il centro del campo, raddoppiare e quindi leggere bene l'azione (Sanders ha sbagliato parecchie volte nei big play), però se ci fosse lo spostamento di Meriwheater e l'acquisto di una SS non sarebbe male comunque.
Comunque se riesci a leggerti l'intervista di Belichick alla combine ne parla molto di safety!  Al draft due nomi potrebbero essere Delmas e Johnson.

On the available defensive backs…
There are some interesting guys here. There are some corners, there are some safeties, and then there are some guys that kind of fall in between. We’ll have to determine how they’ll fall in a particular system. I think that the safety position has become more and more of a corner position in the National Football League. There were times when some of the safeties, particularly the strong safeties, fit more almost like linebackers than they did as defensive backs. I think that’s changed gradually, but now to the point where your defensive backs a lot of times have to cover wide receivers or they have to cover tight ends who are very, very good in the passing game. Not guys running five-yard hook routes, and stuff like that. The tight ends in the league, and it seems like just about every team in the league has one, can get down the field and make athletic and acrobatic catches and can get open and beat tight coverage. I think the demand for that position has changed and I think that’s changed the evaluation a little bit. So maybe some of those hybrid guys who played corner and played safety – like Jenkins, for example, is a guy who played both, what his best fit would be for a team, where he’s most valuable, is certainly an interesting discussion for all teams.

Not exactly revenge for Spygate, but good to see the Jets-Patriots pipeline still working. Baker's career high in catches is only 41, but he can play all three downs competently and block well enough. New England was often short-handed at tight end last year with Ben Watson inconsistent and poor depth behind him.
