Ragazzi vorrei chiedervi una cosa: è un ipotesi abbastanza irreale ma ve la chiedo lo stesso.
Metti che Detroit va con un OT, KC si prende Curry oppure un DE ( LT hanno già Albert, DT hanno Dorsey e Jenkins alla 3 dubito) poi ci sono Seattle, Cleveland, Cincy, Oak, Jax e GB prima di noi...tutte queste hanno già il loro starting QB
Se si arrivasse alla 7 e Stafford sarebbe ancora lì voi ci fareste un pensiero per una trade up? perchè a quel punto penso che in molti lo penserebbero e alla 10 non ci arriverebbe perchè ci anticiperebbero.
Lo so che è molto dura che passi Kansas City ma se accadrebbe voi lo fareste?

Il fatto è che Garcia sarebbe "ingombrante". Farebbe il backup? Se vuoi dare fiducia a chi hai a roster o almeno vedere cosa possono fare non mi sembra la scelta adatta andare a prendere uno come Garcia che ha già fatto molto bene in zona e che quindi i tifosi tendono a ricordare come quando aveva 5-6 anni di meno :D.

Apparte l'idea che mi è venuta in mente così su Stafford a me Hill da abbastanza sicurezza come QB, ok non è un fenomeno ma per quest anno non ci vedo tutta questa esigenza di prendere un Garcia che creerebbe solo pressioni.
O ti trovi il Qb su cui basi il futuro (Stafford o via FA ma non cè niente) oppure per quest anno vai con Shaun e metti a posto gli altri reparti e dall'anno prossimo inizi a farci un ragionamento.

Idea più che condivisibile,voi ne saprete sicuramente di più, ma da esterno Shaun Hill ha dimostrato delle garanzie che vi permette di poter rimandare la questione QB all' anno prossimo, sicuramente non sarà il vostro franchise QB, ma un' altra stagione da starter la può ampiamente fare.

PS. ho fatto uno post sui qb dei niners senza nominare alex smith, sto visibilmente migliorando

Io Hill lo avrei gia' nominato starter da un pezzo!
Se pero' non c'e' fiducia in lui, Garcia mi sembra il meglio che c'e' in FA, indipendentemente da pressioni o robe del genere.
C'e' anche da considerare che abbiamo Hill e forse Smith a roster. Quest'ultimo comunque ha avuto due (2!) operazioni consecutive alla spalla con cui lancia... vogliamo assicurarci un backup capace di scendere in campo, oltre al possibile duo che abbiamo a roster?

questo fatto del ritorno al colore rosso anni 80 è già qualche settimana che si sente dire, c'è un topic apposito sul forum di 49ers.com

I think there is something in the works with our uniforms for next season. I work in a sports memorabilia shop and we received a fax this past Saturday telling us to mark all of our 49ers jerseys down by 30%. We happen to carry at least one jersey from each NFL team, and we're located in the Central Valley in an area where there are plenty of 49ers fans. This seems very odd to me that other teams' merchandise is not on sale when 49ers gear was second only to the Cowboys this season in terms of sales, and was easily our best seller in the last few weeks of the season while the two teams headed in different directions. We could sell our 49ers merchandise even if it weren't on sale, while the other merchandise could use markdowns at this point in the year. Granted, we have select items from other teams on sale, but the 49ers jerseys are on sale regardless of the player.

With that bit of insight, could you please look for any hints as to changes coming up for next season's jerseys? Is it possible that uniform changes were submitted to the league in private? or perhaps there will just be a subtle change, such as going from cardinal to normal red that doesn't require the two years notice to the league?

Altre cose interessanti uscite dal "Niners 'state of the franchise' event" (praticamente una specie di conferenza stampa aperta):

York said the 49ers will start a S.F. 49ers Hall of Fame. The first inductees will be those 49ers who are already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

York said the most important is keeping all their options available for a new stadium. Hopeful a ballot can go in November for the Santa Clara option. Got option at Hunters Point and option at Candlestick Park.

Wants to make sure fans have easy access in and out of games. That's why he says Santa Clara is the first priority. At Candlestick, there are not a lot of public-transportation options and in Santa Clara, there is. He said they will remain the "San Francisco 49ers."

McCloughan:
Positions of interest in free agency: offensive line, safety, wjde receiver and quarterback. In free agency, the team can pinpoint what they need and address it.

At No. 10 draft pick . . . he said you can't pass on the best football player. "You can never have enough good football players.

Question for McCloughan, what is the probability of attracting a quality quarterback . . . he said bringing in a big name, such as Matt Cassel, is not feasible. He said he knows the 49ers will need to get deeper this year.

York ha detto che Vick non verrà ai Niners, Smith ormai è quasi certo invece di si (se lui lo vorrà a stipendio ridotto però).
Garcia non è meglio di Hill secondo Singletary quindi mi sa fuori anche lui.

Are the 49ers a team that builds through the draft? Not yet. In the Dec. 28 finale against the Redskins, seven of the team's defensive starters were free-agent acquisitions. For the last two seasons, the 49ers haven't had a single starter in the secondary who was drafted by the team. There's a better ratio on offense where just four starters - quarterback Shaun Hill, receivers Isaac Bruce and Bryant Johnson and tackle Barry Sims -- were free agents. Two of the team's special teams skill players - long-snapper Brian Jennings and punter Andy Lee - are draft picks, but neither was drafted by the current front office.

Effettivamente i draft fatti finora non sembrano molto buoni, soprattutto in difesa, reparto su cui comunque si e' speso molto in termini di scelte. Stessa considerazione si puo' fare per la OL: e' vero che la maggior parte dei giocatori sono stati scelti al draft danoi, ma i risultati per ora non sono certo proporzionali alle scelte nel reparto, sia come numero che come altezza delle stesse.

York said McCloughan won him over "When Scot stands up on the table and fights against the defensive-oriented head coach and says, 'This is going to be our draft pick.'" There is plenty of meaning in that exchange from two years ago. Willis is now perhaps the team's most talented player, McCloughan is now the general manager and Mike Nolan - the defensive-oriented head coach - is no longer with the team.
