Dura per Sheets ,nei vari blog si ripropone ogni tanto il nome , mi pare non ci sia tanta fiducia sulla sua integrità.
Per i partenti dicevo , non mi paiono molto agitati, o aspettano di fare il supercolpaccio in chiusura o hanno fiducia delle carte interne ,fra attuali e minors.
Si sono calmati anche per l'SS ...fiduciosi che fra Crosby e Petit ,il ruolo sia sufficentemente coperto

Se ci sono problemi sulla sua integrità, e non lo dovesse firmare nessuno, secondo me Beane un contrattino glielo offre. Non sarebbe nè il primo nè l'ultimo giocatore che tenta di riciclarsi agli A's.
Sarebbe peraltro una bella scommessina, che, se vinta, pagherebbe parecchi dividendi.

Preso un discreto rilievo corto , leggermente rischioso per infortuni ,per due "pippe" con qualche dubbio per Robnett , anche se i dubbi non sono sull'immediato ,ma sul futuro.
Robnett era effettivamente un buon prospetto ,ma una serie di "sfighe"...tornando in condizione, potrebbe tornare un buon esterno centro con mazza e atleticità.
Sellers è una potenzale utility per ruoli da interno , buono difensivamente ,ma che stenta a battere il suo peso!
Su entrambi anche le proiezioni non sono molto ottimistiche.
Tutto sommato un buon affare,considerando la farm e i ruoli dei prospetti ceduti.
Per l'esterno centro c'è parecchio di meglio fra rookie e prospetti , per l'SS non c'è praticamente nulla e Sellers non potrebbe essere la soluzione.
Il bullpen direi che è a posto...i partenti continuano a non preoccupare!
Non vedo l'ora di vedere le sorprese

Corey Wimberly, nuova acquisizione di Oakland , è un seconda base ,prospetto di medio livello.
Battitore tendenzialmente più di media che di potenza, fa parte di una trade che vede la partenza di Matt Murton in destinazione Denver
Che dire...visite brevi...il popolo giallo verde anche stanotte riuscirà a dormire e farsene una ragione....

Reduce dalla bella prestazione contro il Venezuela (7 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 9 K) il FA Messicano ex DBack Edgar Gonzalez, trova un contratto di minor con gli A's e andrà a competere per uno degli spot bassi della rotazione.
Negli anni Gonzalez (dal 2003) è stato utilizzato come partente ma anche come rilievo lungo , oggi gli A's hanno solo Josh Outman che potrebbe fare questo tipo di funzione(anche se non sperimentato a sufficenza ancora), partito Chad Gaudin vi era bisogno di questa figura e Gonzalez non è una brutta scelta, in più il Colisseum dovrebbe giocare a suo favore

Sembra saltata l'ipotesi di costrire un nuovo stadio a Freemomt:

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics have abandoned their
plans to relocate to the city of Fremont.

The Athletics had planned to build a stadium in the city, which is about 20
miles south of Oakland, but there has been strong opposition from residents
and businesses in the area of the proposed location.

A presentation to the Fremont Chamber of Commerce and City Council, scheduled
for Tuesday, had already been postponed, and Athletics owner Lew Wolff sent a
letter to the mayor of Fremont on Tuesday.

"After much consideration, today we informed Mayor Wasserman and City Council
members that the Oakland Athletics will cease efforts to relocate our
franchise to the City of Fremont," Wolff said in a statement.

"I expressed my regrets and gratitude, especially to those people who shared
our vision and spent endless hours in support of our proposal. However, it
became increasingly clear that our ballpark project faced significant delays
ahead and I could not, in good conscience, continue to lead our team down this
path."

Wolff had announced his plans to move the team in November 2006, a proposal
that included a 32,000-seat ballpark and a shopping area.

The new ballpark was originally expected to cost between $400 million and $500
million, with construction time about 24-to-36 months. The team was hoping to
be ready to move for the 2012 season, but delayed that target date by two
years after running into opposition.

Wolff said his focus is "now on baseball," but maintained his wish to find a
new location in the Bay Area.

"My goal and desire for the organization is to determine a way to keep the
team in Northern California," Wolff added. "This goal has not changed."

The Athletics have played in the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum since
relocating to the Bay Area from Kansas City in 1968. The building, which the
team shares with the NFL's Oakland Raiders, has undergone significant changes
over the past 41 years.

Many of the upgrades have been done to accommodate the Raiders, fueling
Wolff's desire for a baseball-only ballpark.

Non si parla più di Orlando Cabrera ...viste le non sicurissime condizioni di Chavez , si cerca una utility che possa giocare in più ruoli da interno.

Stanno sondando Nomar Garciaparra ,che dice di essere in dubbio se fare un ultimo anno con gli A' o ritirarsi.

Già pronta l'alternativa nel caso la risposta fosse negativa : altri emissari hanno già preso contatto con Ozzie Smith e Cal Ripken Jr.
" Cal ,ha detto Geren, ci dà più garanzie di tenuta fisica...."
