Harrison defensive player of the year!

Linebacker James Harrison, the best player on the NFL's best defense, won The Associated Press 2008 Defensive Player of the Year award.

Harrison, whose career-high 16 sacks set a team record, also led the NFL with a career-high seven forced fumbles. He beat Dallas' DeMarcus Ware in balloting by a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcaster. Pittsburgh's latest version of the Steel Curtain was the league's stingiest in total defense, pass defense and points allowed.

Harrison earned 22 votes to 13 for Ware.

Sicuramente il migliore attacco delle quattro rimaste. Nella partita di RS, come in molte altre, quasi tutte, il problema è stato la mancanza di protezione da parte della linea d'attacco degli Steelers: le yards totali guadagnate sono state quasi il doppio rispetto a quelle dei Chargers, ma i sack subiti in momenti cruciali hanno sempre impedito di concretizzare al massimo i drive. Speriamo che anche questa volta la difesa sia all'altezza della sua fama e che il play calling sopperisca alle difficoltà della linea d'attacco. Una grossa incognita sono poi le condizioni di Big Ben, anche se sicuramente sarà in campo. Se a un certo punto giocasse Leftwich sarebbe fondamentale riavere una parvenza di gioco di corsa per poi provare ogni tanto la bomba in profondità.
