mi dispiace che i brewers abbiano firmato trot nixon, sennò a NY si poteva vedere una scena tipo field of dreams con i tre ex sox che uscivano - e fantasmi in difesa di sicuro sarebbero stati - nell'outfield dello yankee stadium....

anche se riuscissimo a prendere Tex, questo sarebbe utile per la stagione 2010

Feeermi tutti. Premesso che i Cubs non han bisogno di gufate per perdere, Tex non può rifiutare i Red Sox. Cioè, le opzioni sono Nats, Orioles e Red Sox, secondo voi cosa farà? Io credo che già adesso, prima ancora di firmare, la notte sogni il Mostro Verde...immaginate, lui che colpisce la pallina forte e la manda oltre il Mostro, nell'atmosfera, ancora più su, e tutta la Red Sox Nation che lo acclama, in piedi, l'odore della birra in quel campo magico, e Tex mentre correrà sulle basi vedrà i numeri di Yaz e Ted, il 27 di Fisk, sentirà l'urlo strozzato del 2003 riecheggiare, e il boato del 2004 che ancora aleggia nell'aria di Beantown, il giorno in cui cadè l'Impero sotto i colpi dell'Armata Rossa. E una lacrima scenderà dal viso di Mark, mentre abbraccia Bay e Ortiz, mentre Francona gli fa un occhiolino di stima, e quando Tex si sveglierà da quel magnifico sogno non potrà che firmare per i Red Sox.

The Nationals reportedly have sweetened their offer to free agent first baseman Mark Teixeria.

MASN Online claimed that Washington has raised its proposal, spread across eight years, to somewhere in the $178 million to $184 million range. The report added there are indications that the Nationals might be talked into going to nine or even 10 years. A 10-year offer would fulfill goal for Teixeir delivered by agent Scott Boras at the General Managers Meeting in November.

Widely considered the favorites in spite of a meeting on Thursday in Dallas that didn't go their way, the Red Sox reportedly have a proposal for eight years at anywhere from $165 to $180 million for Teixeira. The Orioles, the first baseman's hometown team, are believed to have offered seven years in the $140 million to $150 million range.

The Nationals reportedly made an eight-year, $160 million offer at the Winter Meetings in Las Vegas.
