The Canadiens may become the first team to send six starters to the all-star game. Crosby was the leading vote-getter the last two years. The game is Jan. 25 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

"What we've seen is inconsistency, we need him to be a better player," MacTavish told the Sun. "You can't just continue to throw gratuitous ice time at a guy that is that inconsistent. Something's got to change.

"The frustrating thing for me is that he's got the game and he just can't find it. You have to put the work in. He's got the game. He's got a great set of tools, he just lacks the horsepower."

Avery si becca una sospensione per aver detto, prima della partita, che a Calgary c'è qualcuno (Phaneuf) che s'innamora di quelle che lui si è già sbattuto.

) ed ovviamente Avery è un cazzone e tutto quello che di male si può dire su di lui, ma sospenderlo indefinitamente per quello che in sostanza non è altro che trash talking?!
Tra l'altro se Avery avesse giocato avrebbe sicuramente fatto prendere stupide penalità a Phaneuf, che è proprio il motivo per il quale se n'è uscito con una dichiarazione del genere.

Credo che sia un po' un fatto di salvare la faccia della lega.. E' uno sport in cui e' permesso tutto, sul ghiaccio. Ed e' bello per quello. Le parole, le interviste le fanno negli sport da fighette. E' stupido Avery ad aver detto quelle cose di fronte a un microfono invece che di fronte a Phaneuf.

Guarda che Avery glielo avrebbe tranquillamente ripetuto sul ghiaccio. Lo fa apposta a provocare chiunque non è che si tiri indietro dall'insultare qualcuno. E' il suo gioco e quando gli riesce finisce col far guadagnare PP alla squadra o far finire in gabbia per 5 minuti un giocatore importante (un po' come ha sempre fatto Ott con Iginla).

Sul discorso di jovocop non sono molto d'accordo, negli sport da fighetta nessuno direbbe mai una cosa del genere prima della partita, magari lo farebbe in offseason. Se lo dici prima della partita sai che poi avrà delle ripercussioni durante la gara. Ciò che cmq non trovo concepibile è sospendere un giocatore indefinitamente per del trash talking. Alla fine Avery è marketing per la lega dato che attira più microfoni lui di altri giocatori molto più talentuosi.
