Bene, mi fa piacere che i nostri "fratelli" al di là dell'Oceano inizino a farsi sentire contro l'HC..in effetti il senso di andare con la trasformazione da 1pt lo sa solo lui..magari pensava poi di entrare senza problemi altre n volte nella loro end zone.. :gazza:...ma non aveva senso cmq quella scelta, -1 o -2 non cambiava nulla, sempre indietro di un field gol si sarebbe rimasti...

Comunque, mia personale opinione sui Vikings, secondo me Childress sbaglia tutta l'impostazione tattica..
Non si può gestire così una partita contro dei derelitti, a dir poco, Lions e per poco ci scappa anche la L. Secondo me per i Viks il meglio sarebbe silurare Childress (Billick..) e prendere un QB che sappia sfruttare un pò le vie aree, Tarvaris è indecente (magari diventa grandissimo ma non credo), Frerotte oltre a non aver più l'età non credo sia proprio il massimo..
Butto là una vecchia conoscenza : Culpepper ? Per quello che avete, non sarebbe neanche troppo un azzardo.
Dispiace vedere una squadra che potrebbe tranquillamente aggiudicarsi una Wild Card, grazie a una difesa più che buona e a un rushing game  eccellente, annaspare fra mille difficoltà..

P.S. Ma come mai Childress non tenta Booty ? E' così scarso ?

Beh, ma anche andando 10-9 come è successo, in caso di 2°td dei Lions, una trasformazione da due punti avremmo cmq dovuto farla per pareggiare....tanto valeva provare a portarsi in pari subito...anche perchè poi così ci siamo trovati sotto di 1pt fino all'ultimo, rischiando di perdere se non avessimo messo il field goal (e uno già ce lo eravamo fatti bloccare)...

A meno che Frerotte e Tarvario non si rompano per bene non credo che vedremo Booty in campo, almeno finchè resterà a Minneapolis Childress. In primis perchè fino a quando saremo presumibilmente in corsa per i PO non conviene rischiare mettendo al timone dell'attacco un ragazzo che non ha nemmeno un secondo di NFL alle spalle; sarebbero pochi i coach che lo fanno, soprattutto con uno scelto al 5o giro. Poi comunque il baffetto ci ha abituato ad insistere sui derelitti dal braccino corto (anche se Gus rispetto a BJ ha un cannone) fino a quando la stagione è chiaramente persa; un esempio....Brad Johnson titolare ad oltranza prima di provare Tarvaris. Se i Wilf e il pubblico non si mettevano a smadonnare TJ avrebbe esordito solo nel 2007, una cosa assurda, perchè quando capisci che hai perso il treno per la Post Season la cosa migliore è cominciare a valutare quello che hai in mano per pianificare free agency, draft, e stagione successiva.

Comunque per rispondere secco...no, JD Booty non dovrebbe essere scarsissimo...almeno a detta di Pete Carroll, che lo considera (lui, non io) al pari di Carson Palmer e Matt Leinhart.

The one-time Vikings linebacker was headed for Miami for a scheduled workout with the Dolphins on Monday. But the Vikings had an immediate need -- and job available -- and Thomas jumped at the opportunity to return to the team that drafted him in the second round in 2004 and served as his home the past four seasons before signing with the San Francisco 49ers in February.

"I told the [flight attendant], 'Um, I've got to get off the plane,'" Thomas said Monday after signing with the Vikings. "I said, 'I have an emergency back home and have to get off the plane.'"

Actually, the Vikings had an semi-emergency after getting hit hard by injuries at linebacker. Middle linebacker E.J. Henderson is out for the season because of a foot injury. His backup, David Herron, suffered multiple injuries in Sunday's 12-10 victory against the Detroit Lions and is "beat up" physically, according to coach Brad Childress.

So who was this wretched, godawful coach who needed to be fired ASAP 15 years ago?

William Stephen Belichick.

Congratulations, Brad Childress. You now have something in common with one of the best head coaches in NFL history: An angry mob that wants your head on the next flight out of town. Whether the rest of you follows is purely optional.

I was in Cleveland Stadium on Nov. 21, 1993 when Browns fans aligned against Bill Belichick. I was at the Metrodome on Sunday when Vikings fans ganged up on Childress as he was improving to .500 on the year and 17-21 in his third NFL season as a head coach.

Childress said Monday that Vikings fans are becoming "more like Philadelphia fans, I suppose, a little bit more mean-spirited." I won't question him on that one. After all, they don't raise them any meaner than the folks in Philly.

But the "Fire Childress!" chants that grew throughout the second half of Sunday's 12-10 victory over the Lions can't compare to the venom released by Browns fans chanting "Bill Must Go!" back on Nov. 21, 1993.
The logistics of dumpy old Cleveland Stadium added to the intensity of the situation. Fans knew Belichick's only route from the Browns' locker room to the interview room was a short walk through the concourse. So hundreds of them camped out, waiting for Belichick to make that walk in plain view.

Belichick had done more to these people than go 6-10 in 1991, 7-9 in 1992 and lose three consecutive games to fall to 5-5 in 1993. Two weeks earlier, he had cut quarterback/local hero Bernie Kosar. The wound was fresh and this was the first home game since Kosar's release.

Belichick was escorted to the interview room by stadium security. Fans went berserk. They chanted "Bill Must Go!", "Bernie! Bernie!" and "We Want Belichick," although not in a good way. They yelled unprintable words about Bill's mother. They beat on metal garbage cans.

Belichick never flinched. He stepped on the platform and began to mumble on about the five turnovers that day.

He raised his voice when it became obvious that few if any of the reporters in the room could hear him above the fans just outside the door. When one of us asked Belichick what he thought about the fans going nuts, he just smiled.

"To quote Buddy Ryan, 'If you listen to the fans, you will be up there with them,'" Belichick said. "I have to do what I think is right, and I've been doing that. I know this team is headed in the right direction. I am confident in the long run we are going to be OK."

Belichick and his posse of security personnel made their way back past the fans and into the locker room.

The Browns finished 7-9 that season. They went 11-5 and made the playoffs in 1994. They went 5-11 in 1995, moved to Baltimore and became the Ravens.

So to recap, two years after fans chanted "Bill Must Go!", the Browns moved because of an awful stadium situation. Hey, speaking of awful stadiums, doesn't the Vikings' lease with the Metrodome expire soon, as in 2011? And aren't the local and state politicians doing, well, nothing?

If my memory serves me correctly, that would put the Vikings somewhere else in 2012 and Childress leading someone else to a Super Bowl victory in about 2016 or 2017.

Farfetched? Yeah, but no more farfetched than that other scenario was 15 years ago.

Indecente!!!
Io non l'ho mai amato molto, mancava di braccio completamente, sul lungo non riusciva mai a produrre qualcosa di concreto, si limitava a qualche screen corto e nulla più. Per quel che ricordo non è mai stato troppo preciso e sicuramente il tocco non è il suo forte visto che spesso e volentieri piazza delle sparacchiate letali, non per la squadra avversaria ma per la sua, che si trova a rincorrere il defensive back di turno per tutto il campo cercando di impedirgli di trovare l'endzone.
Sul fatto che poi sia un gatto di marmo non ci sono dubbi...era già fermo a Tampa, fermissimo in Minnesota, figuriamoci ora.

Comunque è vero che siete in corsa per i playoff e anche per vincere la division, però non vedo molte differenze fra giocare con QB come Tarvario o Gus e un rookie..
Sinceramente parlando, non me ne vogliano i Ravens, ma sta continuando a dare opportunità a Flacco che ne è ha combinate di cavolate e voi con un TJ a cui mancano attributi, Gus che ormai è sul pensionamento andante, credo che Booty (ho visto qualche highlights dell'anno scorso di USC e non mi sembrava male ((di sicuro non Palmer..)) ) potrebbe essere un tampone..
Poi credo che nel sistema improntato da Childress il QB non abbia sto gran ruolo.. E' sempre rush-rush-rush, terzo lungo, eh be allora lanciamo che magari conquistare il primo down ci fa comodo.. :gazza: :lol2:

Continuiamo a riciclare linebacker. Ieri ha firmato la nostra vecchia conoscenza Napoleon Harris; si, lui, proprio lui, fugate qualsiasi dubbio, è lo stesso NapoleonH che avevamo acquisito 4 stagioni fa nella trade per Randy Moss... :cheschifo:

The Vikings will add another familiar face to their depleted linebacker corps. Napoleon Harris, the team's starting middle linebacker in 2006, agreed to a one-year contract with the team Wednesday night after visiting Winter Park and undergoing a physical, his agent, Doug Hendrickson, said in an e-mail. The deal is expected to be signed today.

Coach Brad Childress' revelation about Harris' visit Wednesday came as a surprise considering his first trip had been scheduled to be in Detroit. But the fact the Vikings are a better team and have a real need at middle linebacker might have made them more attractive.

Harris, who was released by Kansas City on Tuesday, didn't play in a game for the Chiefs this season but could help the Vikings.

The team lost starting middle linebacker E.J. Henderson (dislocated toes) for the season, and his replacement, David Herron, suffered a hip injury last Sunday against Detroit and did not practice Wednesday.

At this point, it appears as if Dontarrious Thomas could get the start Sunday in Chicago. Thomas, who played for the Vikings from 2004 to 2007, was re-signed Monday but hasn't played since being let go by the 49ers before the season. He took some reps with the first team Wednesday. Ben Leber and backup Vinny Ciurciu are also options to play in the middle.

Dopo Dontarrius Thomas quindi torna anche lui, e tutto perchè il coach del LB, Pagnac, preferisce lavorare con gente che conosce già il sistema. Ma dico, va bene l'esperienza, Thomas passa ancora, ma Harris è al limite della vergogna. E poi avevamo tra le mani Sartz, LB da USC considerato uno dei potenziali + inespressi in circolazioni, e Lehman, altro bel prospetto...e mo andiamo a prendere questi, non potevamo lanciare i giovani? nah...

Avanti di sto passo come QB chiamaremo Randall Cunningham o Jeff George....qualcuno sa se sono ancora in forma??
