Irish coach Staunton was furious at Ireland, who was described by one friend as "living in a world of lies." The coach's mood wasn't helped by the fact Ireland lost 1-0 to the Czechs, which effectively ended their hopes of qualifying. Ireland said his girlfriend had miscarried and that "caused us to panic." The FAI as well as football fans over the country were left to wonder why he hadn't simply told the truth, as a miscarriage would have been sufficient to allow Ireland compassionate leave.

"Jessica (his girlfriend) said she was very lonely and wanted me to come home. She thought they might let me home quicker if they thought my grandmother had died," Ireland explained.

He has not played for Ireland since this controversy.

se ingranano bene potrebbero essere la sorpresa della premier.
Sono un pò deluso dal mio WBA sapevo che sarebbe stata dura la stagione e lunga la lotta per non retrocedere, ma nelle due partite mi ha deluso l'atteggiamento generale della squadra ch esicuramente non aveva la cattiveria di chi deve far punti a tutti i costi forse nella prima partita megli och enella seconda

Sabato c'è in programma un'interessantissimo Arsenal-Newcastle, mentre domenica ci sarà Chelsea-Tottenham, con gli Spurs chiamati almeno a una prestazione decente in quella che sembra una mission impossible e ci sarà anche Aston Villa-Liverpool....

Wright-Phillips se ne torna all'ovile, al City!

LONDRA - Il Chelsea ha ceduto Shaun Wright-Phillips al Manchester City. L'ala inglese ritorna quindi al club dal quale se ne era andato tre anni fa per approdare proprio al Chelsea. Wright-Phillips ha firmato un contratto di quattro anni.

Assomiglia tanto al percorso andata e ritorno che ha fatto Sheva con il Milan. Acquisti oculati quelli del Chelsea. :lol2:

Secondo me è anche questione di stanchezza. Il Liverpool gioca 4 competizioni, come anche altre squadra. Forse loro non reggono facilmente questo sovraccarico...

Guarda che le grandi squadre la Carling Cup e l' inizio di FA lo fanno giocare sempre ai giovani e alle riserve perenni e basta seguire il Liverpool anche da poco per capire che quel problema è di testa e non di gambe

Peccato per la sconfitta interna al 90esimo contro gli Spurs altrimenti i miei Toffees sarebbero nelle prime posizioni in classifica. Ora è arrivato Obinna, speriamo bene.
