domanda da ignorante della materia:
perchè negli anni che furono si battevano molti più tripli di oggi?

ad esempio ruth 136 tripli bonds 77
griffey jr e sosa hanno battuto rispettivamente 38 e 45 tripli, mays, il più vicino in termini di home run ne ha battuti 140!!!!
a oggi a rod ne ha battuti 26, jim thome 24, manny 18!

dipende solo dal miglioramento del gioco difensivo?

Dipende da tanti fattori. Eccone alcuni:
- Difese migliori.
- Palle più "vive" e mazze più reattive (gli HR sono aumentati).
- Campi più piccoli (prima le palle venivano inseguite dagli esterni, adesso se vanno profonde tendono ad uscire).

I tripli si sono suddivisi soprattutto in HR e doppi. I tripli profondi nei campi grandi sono diventati HR. I tripli "mosci" sono diventati doppi grazie alle difese. I tripli contro il muro pure.
