3 12 75 Reggie Smith CB Oklahoma
4 8 107 Cody Wallace C Texas A&M
6 8 174 Josh Morgan WR Virginia Tech

Figlio di uno sfegatato tifoso dei niners:
He said he can't yet grasp he's a 49ers player. His dad is a big 49ers fan, and he said he can't be in a better situation or with a better team. He remembers the 49ers' Super Bowl victory against the Chargers in January 1995. That's one of his first football memories.
Si è messo a chiedere autografi a Clements e Nolan:
He still considers himself a fan. He has already gotten autographs from Nate Clements and Mike Nolan. He said they were a little surprise when he asked them for their autographs. "It's still a game, and I'm still a fan of this game," Balmer said.
Last night at the hotel in San Jose, a fan asked him for his autograph. Balmer said he was very uncomfortable signing an autograph. He said it was pretty messy, and he apologized to the guy. He wrote "Go Niners" and talked for a while with the fan.

It's time to grade the drafts of the four NFC West teams. This is a project we at Instant 49ers take very seriously. It should require a lot of homework and countless hours of examining the latest data.
OK, so here it goes . . .
The Cardinals get an incomplete. The Rams get an incomplete. The Seahawks get an incomplete. And, finally, the 49ers receive an incomplete. Check back in four years and I'll update those grades.
Every team loves their own draft. That's the way it is every year. That's the way it should be. After all, each team selects players based on their own draft board. Pundits across the country then weigh in on their opinions based on their draft boards.
Because Instant 49ers does not have the resources to travel the country attending personal workouts and scouring hours of film on the most obscure players, we don't have a draft board. It would be the definition of ignorance for us to critique the individual selections of these teams. We prefer to wait a while before raving about a draft or declaring it a dud.
Inoltre:
Early Doucet is a good pick. Why? Because we've all heard of him. (Isn't that how we judge drafts?)
