SAN DIEGO -- Chargers inside linebacker Stephen Cooper was suspended for four games by the NFL on Tuesday for testing positive for a banned stimulant.

Cooper, who moved into the starting lineup last season and led the Chargers with 179 tackles, said in a statement released by the team that he took a stimulant that was recently added to the NFL's list of prohibited substances.

"I regret that I mistakenly took a stimulant that I did not realize at the time was banned by the NFL," Cooper said. "I support the NFL's anti-doping policies, and understand that I must serve a suspension even though the stimulant that I took was not used before any game and was not used to enhance my performance.

mi raccontate l'off season tipo dell'onesto professionista nfl?
in questi periodo già è ricominciato il lavoro di squadra?
brevi stage o regolare quotidiano?
devono cmq sempre tenersi a disposizione per controlli antidoping o ci sono periodi stabiliti?

Rumors parlano di Vikings, Chargers, Bills, Jaguars e Rams come franchigie candidate al trasferimento ad LA; staremo a vedere.

Va, dopo i Lakers pure i Vikings gli rubano... e basta! :D Comuqnue i Vikings non ce li vedo, i Rams ormai mi sa che hanno messo le radici, i Bills nemmeno e, al massimo, si sposterebbero di poche miglia per estendere la Nfl in Canada. I Jags ci stanno invece, non hanno radici storiche, sono in florida dove convivono già altre due franchigie (quindi è una zona coperta e Jacksonville come città potrebbe non essere fondamentale).

Ma alla fine, se mandassimo in culo LA e lasciassimo tutto così?

Jared Allen's days with the Chiefs appear to be numbered.

Allen, the NFL's reigning sack leader, told FOXSports.com that the Vikings and Buccaneers have held trade talks with the Chiefs and he anticipates a deal will get done prior to next week's draft.

"It's a situation that works out best for both sides," Allen told FOXSports.com. "I can go to a team that is competing for a championship right now. The Chiefs can get valuable draft picks to rebuild with."

Allen said he is flying to Minnesota and has a visit set up with the Vikings by this weekend. He is tentatively scheduled to meet with Tampa Bay next week. The Jacksonville Jaguars had previously inquired with Allen's camp as well.

The Pro Bowl defensive end is the Chiefs' franchise player, but re-signing in Kansas City will be a problem as the team is looking to stockpile draft picks.

Allen said the two sticking points are working out terms of a deal with a new team and the Chiefs agreeing to compensation for a trade. A package of first- and second-round picks or one of first- and third-round picks in the upcoming draft have been discussed as possible terms. It's unclear at this point what it will take to get the deal done.

Allen, a four-year veteran, led the league in sacks in 2007 with 15.5 and has 13 forced fumbles in the past three seasons.

Ma mandiamoli in culo sì, cazzo. Basta. Ogni 3x2 qualcuno se ne esce con qualche nuova proposta di mandare una franchigia a LA. Si sta bene così? period. Restiamo così.

anche perchè con il progetto del nuovo stadio penso che i Viks non si spostano proprio....a meno che non sia prevista una nuova espansione...
