allora facciamo un punto della situazione: brett si è ritirato...molto parlare su di lui e non mi soffermo qui a descrivervi cosa rappresentava il numero 4 per me e le emozioni che mi dava vederlo giocare (purtroppo solo gli ultimi 2 anni sono riuscito a vederlo con continuità). in tanti hanno espresso i loro giudizi e le loro opinioni: chi lo indica come migliore di tutti i tempi, chi neanche tra i primi 10...io non mi esprimo: certo non era perfetto, ha fatto molti errori ma quello era il suo modo di giocare, il suo modo di intendere la partita, di lui si può dire tutto ma non che sia stato un giocatore ipocrita (se mi si concede tale espressione). di sicuro è stato uno dei più grandi personaggi di tutti i tempi per la sua semplicità e per la sua attitudine a trattare tutti come persone normali (incredibile come si presenta alla press conference di addio cpn dei jeans normalissimi, una camicia sbottonta e fuori dei pantaloni e la barba ancora da fare (yes, i know, i can shawe...but it is me...esprimono il concetto...o no?). non sarà stato il migliore di tutti i tempi ma ricordiamoci che lui non era un predestinato: solo un college gli offrì unqa borsa dii studio (southern miss) e per giocare safety.....lui tenne duro e si presentò al primo camp come 6° qb (mi sembra) e poi scalò tutte le posizioni.
non sarà stato il più grande, il più vincente (alvise forse ha ragione), ma sicuramente il più amato dalle folle...questo sì...il più amato anche dai rivali.

finalmente i green bay packers saranno la squadra di mike mccharty: lui ha sempre affermato che che la sua squadra deve correre...beh ora mike penso dovremo correre un bel po'...
inizia l'era aaron rodgers, qb uscente da cal al draft 2005 e che fino all'ultimo doveva essere il pick numero 1 del draft dei 49ers che poi scelsero alex smith su indicazione di chi? su indicazione di mike mmccharty all'epoca offensive coordinator nella baia. secondo me questi anni lo hanno fatto maturare e sicuramente le qualità ci sono: molto ha imparato dal numero 4 anche se il primo anno non si potevano vedere...poi il rapporto è cresciuto. gli unici dubbi non sono sulla capacità di guidare l'attacco (dallas è stato un buon antipasto e anche in offseason aveva fatto bene) ma sulla capacità di restare sano...di certo l'eredità che gli spetta è pesante ma green bay, squadra-organizzazione-popolo, ha fiducia in lui.

i rumors danno in entrata un qb di riserva (quinn gray probabile se non si accasa a oakland), un TE kris wilson dai chiefs, un LB brandon chillar dai rams...conoscendo un po' ted thompson probabilmente arriverà solo un qb backup vista la sua tendenza a costruire la squadra via draft e non via free agency.

abbiamo una disponibilità nel cap di oltre 30 milioni di dollari e sicuramente rifirmeremo con nuovi contratti ryan grant e atary bigby.

restiamo la squadra più giovane, ora ancora più giovane.

al draft, con un second round in più dopo la trade williams ai browns, si guarderà ai CB, S, TE, LB, OT.

cosa dire infine se non in bocca al lupo a brett per la nuova vita (non lo vedremo molto da qui in poi secondo me) e a TT e MM per un buon draft.

Per l’indistruttibile vale solo la frase “Io sono leggenda”. Favre non è che il “modello” di sé stesso. Domenica dopo domenica,Come tutti noi appassionati. Favre è stato così amato da TUTTI i tifosi di football perché è sempre stato semplicemente uno di noi. Perché non è mai stato una stella lontana ed inarrivabile, ma un ragazzino che giocava in mezzo alle 80.000 persone di uno stadio, e ai milioni davanti alla TV, come se fosse nel cortile sotto casa.
Per quanto mi riguarda ..... è stato un esempio di serietà , integrità e valori reali e veri per uno sport che ha sempre meno ideali
da seguire.
Di una cosa è certa... quando mio figlio sarà più grande (ora 20 mesi) gli racconterò la storia di un ragazzo come tanti ...venuto dal Mississippi in punta di piedi dalla porta secondaria..........diventato poi... LEGGENDA

Per me Favre è un esempio irraggiungibile proprio per quanto detto da te; la sua perseveranza, abnegazione, la sua passione, il fatto di riuscire a fare la miglior partita in carriera poco dopo la morte del padre, il continuo combattere con problemi più grossi del football, dalla morte del giovanissimo cognato alla malattia della altrettanto giovane moglie, lo stravolgere record dopo record senza avere, all'apparenza qualità così alte a livello tecnico, non lo rendono per nulla, a mio giudizio, una persona comune. Sembra più un film che l'uomo della porta accanto.

In effetti Brett Favre è tutto questo... non è un'alieno con poteri sovranaturali ....ma è semplicemente BRETT FAVRE ,con i suoi lampi di genio ...
con la sua passione .. con il suo cuore...ma anche con i suoi difetti.
Su una cosa sono convinto come te... non ci sarà mai più nessuno come lui....
Non per niente gli Americani lo chiamano THE MAKING LEGEND ..... e non mi stupirei più di tanto se fra qualche tempo venisse fuori anche un film
sulla sua vita e la sua carriera ... e in fondo in fondo ...come dargli torto ..... a chi non piacciono i lieto fine !!!!

ci sono rumors che parlano di un ritiro di brett a causa di un ritorno del cancro a sua moglie...spero proprio non sia vero e sia solo una cazzata di quelle che si sparano in questi casi.

Mark Murphy, president and ceo of the Green Bay Packers, said Wednesday that the Packers plan on retiring Brett Favre's number sometime this coming season.

Murphy said he had had a preliminary discussion with Favre, and that both Favre and the organization agreed that his No. 4 would be retired in 2008. "Our plan and his is to retire his number sometime this season. And we will make a decision after the schedule comes out," Murphy said.

Needless to say, that game will be a hot ticket for Packers fans. The event also is guaranteed to gain national attention.

Murphy stressed that any plans are preliminary, with many details yet to be worked out. "Our initial thought is to retire his number during a game. But what more might be entailed will be worked out," he said.

Murphy said that, despite the loss of Favre, he was positive about the team's future. "You look at the core of players we put together," Murphy said. "A very young team. There is a real interest in seeing what Aaron Rodgers is going to do, and see how the team responds to his leadership."

Murphy added that one thing that gave him a lot of confidence about the team this coming season is the management team of General Manager Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy. Specifically, Murphy said McCarthy's history of working with quarterbacks is a plus as well.

Linebacker Brandon Chillar is headed to Green Bay. The Rams' starting strongside linebacker the past two seasons, Chillar has agreed to a two-year contract worth $5.2 million according to league sources. Incentive clauses in the contract could raise the value of the deal above $6 million.

Chillar, 25, also received offers from Arizona and the Rams. Chillar's departure leaves the Rams minus two starters from last season's club. The Rams released right end James Hall on the first weekend of the free agency periods.

Free-agent linebacker Brandon Chillar will make a decision today on his next team, according to his agent, Brian Mackler.

Mackler provided no further details, but league sources say Arizona, Green Bay and the Rams all have made offers and that the Rams very much remain in the running to retain Chillar.

The Rams are believed to be offering a one-year deal, while Arizona and Green Bay are offering multi-year deals. Chillar, 25, was a fourth-round draft pick by the Rams in 2004 out of UCLA. He was a part-time starter in 2004 and 2005 but has been the Rams' starting strongside linebacker the past two seasons.

There is plenty of sentiment at Rams Park toward keeping Chillar because of his youth and his improvement the past two seasons under defensive coordinator Jim Haslett and linebackers coach Rick Venturi. Chillar may never be a star in the NFL, but he has developed into a solid linebacker who rarely misses a tackle.

Last season, Chillar registered career highs in tackles (85), sacks (2 1/2) and forced fumbles (three). While recognizing Chillar's value, the Rams have approached his re-signing knowing that they can't go overboard with a contract offer; they're only in decent cap shape and have more pressing needs at several other positions. They also already have nearly $58 million committed in contracts to starting linebackers Will Witherspoon and Pisa Tinoisamoa.

Arizona was thought to be the front-runner for Chillar, who apparently would like to play on the West Coast if he doesn't return to St. Louis. But the Cardinals have had cap issues much of the offseason because of complications arising from wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald's contract.

no, penso che di solito funzioni che si faccia la cerimonia durante l'half time o prima dell'inizio della gara.

se qualcuno conosce il meccanismo lo spieghi meglio di me.

Normalmente è così, magari viene fatto in monday night o comunque in una partita importante.
