Miami andrà di trade down con Dallas quasi certamente, ricevendo ovviamente in cambio i due pick dei Cowboys, che sono la 22, che è la scelta dei Browns e la 28. Tutti e due i pick verrebbero spesi su uomini dell'OL, in particolare, si fanno sempre più insistenti le voci che danno Albert alla 22, che è una guardia ma potrebbe giocare anche OT, proprio perchè gli Steelers potrebbero sottrarlo e andare poi con la 28 con l'OT rimanente tra Williams, Cherilus e Baker.
Se non era per i Browns che hanno scambiato il loro first round pick 2008 per Quinn, non avreste corso rischi e Albert sarebbe giunto certamente alla 23, così, invece i rischi ci sono.
Ovviamente il discorso è pieno di se, quindi conta 0, è solo un pour parler...

PITTSBURGH — Steelers’ offensive lineman Chris Kemoeatu and Trai Essex have each signed their one-year tenders, it was announced today. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Kemoeatu (6-3, 344) will enter his fourth season with the Steelers after being selected in the fifth round (204th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft. Kemoeatu has appeared in 18 career games mostly as a reserve at guard and as a special teams contributor. He started two games at right guard in place of Kendall Simmons during the 2006 season.

Essex (6-4, 324) will also be entering his fourth season with the Steelers after being selected in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft. Essex has appeared in 24 regular-season contests as a backup at both tackle and guard. He started four games at left tackle in place of Marvel Smith during the 2005 season, and made his first NFL postseason start at left tackle in place of Smith during the 2007 Wild Card Game against Jacksonville.

They each get a 10-percent raise. I"m not sure of the exact figure, though. That's what the CBA allows. It also allows the Steelers to work on long-term deals if they feel it's necessary. They might make Kemoeatu play for an extension this year or sign him in training camp if he appears to be on his way to starting.

Una conferma al "se vogliono qualcuno i soldi li trovano".
Mahan non lo tagliano solo perchè non possono addossarsi il dead money sul cap di quest'anno. Non credo possa far meglio come guardia, tant'è che il tender a Kemo più la probabile scelta di B. Albert parlano chiaro - e no, io non credo alla mega-trade Miami/Dallas al draft.

Non so se è un colpaccio bro - nei due anni ai Panthers pare non sia stato un fattore - ma di sicuro è meglio di Mahan.

Haggans checked in on Tuesday and was to meet with team officials and coaches on Wednesday. The Browns are looking for a pass-rush complement to Kamerion Wimbley.

Si effettivamente non è una scelta che mi entusiasma in particolar modo. A dire il vero preferirei provare a prendere un pass-rusher al Draft piuttosto che spendere per Haggans che probabilmente verrà utilizzato in running-situation. Dipende da quanto chiede e se accetta di fare rotazione, in tal caso si potrebbe anche fare visto che in valore assoluto, in questo momento, è un upgrade rispetto a McGinest.
