il problema non e' legato al salary cap, ma alla % degli incassi (medi) a cui dovrebbe corrispondere.
Uno sciopero fu già tentato, con risultato decisamente sfavorevole ai giocatori( per una serie di concause), non penso ci riarriveranno, vedo piu' probabile un tentativo di causa

Sì ma un mancato accordo, al di là delle cause, porterebbe al salto del CBA e quindi del tetto salariale per il 2010. Lo salti un anno lo perdi per parecchio tempo mi sa. Non so che legame ci sia tra SC e % incassi, forse sono solo voci che, per compensarne una, si agisce anche sull'altra o, comunque, non la si accetta più in fase di rinnovo.

Senza regolamentazioni si finirebbe come nel baseball, dove chi spende di più ha maggiori possibilità di vincere (l'unica cosa che mi attrae è che i Redskins potrebbero vincere sul serio) e non mi piacerebbe vedere, che so, una qualsiasi squadra con Manning, Chad Johnson e Tomlinson insieme solo perchè non ci sono più limiti alle sommatorie dei singoli contratti. Le franchigie meno abbienti resterebbero sul fondo per diversi anni consecutivi, con meno probabilità di fare una cosiddetta turnaround season da un anno all'altro, rovesciando il record perdente dell'anno prima.

Non è proprio vero che in MLB vince chi ha più soldi. Chi sa costruire le proprie squadre come si deve, riesce ad emergere. L'esempio negativo sono i miei Yankees (più soldi, ma non vincono da una vita), i DBacks sono arrivati in fondo l'anno scorso e le loro risorse non sono proprio d'elite.

Goodell ha parlato di varie cose, iniziando dallo spygate:

He said he confiscated six videotapes, in addition to notes of opponents' signals that could have been obtained by illegal videotaping of coaching signals. Goodell said there was no indication that the Patriots benefitted from this practice in any of their Super Bowl victories. He said the scandal does not taint the Patriots' accomplishments.

Goodell said the tapes seized and later destroyed were from the 2007 preseason, as well as late in the '06 regular season. Goodell said that on one of the tapes, an opponent's coach is seen waving to the camera, fully aware he is being taped. He said he destroyed the tapes because if something later emerges, he'll know the Patriots were not truthful about handing over all of the evidence.

Here are some other things Goodell addressed today:

--The Saints will play the Chargers on Oct. 26 in London's Wimbley Stadium. The Saints are giving up a home game, which seems mighty bizarre because of the financial importance of football games to New Orleans. But the NFL claims there will be extensive marketing of potential tourists in the U.K.

--The league will look to return to Mexico City as early as 2009. The 49ers and Cardinals played the first regular season game outside the U.S. in 2005 when they traveled to Mexico City.

--The NFL wants to be back in Los Angeles, but they league has no expansion plans. 

--The Bills will play one regular season game the next five years in Toronto. (The 49ers are on the Bills' schedule next season, and there is some talk of that game being held in Canada.)

--The league wants parity. The Patriots went undefeated, but there were some close games throughout that streak. Goodell called the close scoring margins great for the fans.

--He said he would not enter into the rhetoric that began Thursday when union chief Gene Upshaw started digging in his heels about potential labor strife.

--He called the NFL's testing for performance-enhancing drugs the "gold standard," while acknowledging there's no testing for human-growth hormone. He said he does not believe the use of HGH is high among players, but also said he has no scientific evidence to support his opinion.

--In order to avoid the potential for playoff teams resting starters in late-season games and not playing competitively, Goodell will look into different seeding standards in order to make all the games more meaningful. He called the Giants-Patriots game in the final week - a game in which neither team had anything to gain from a seedings standpoint - one of the highlights of the season.

--There is no new negotiations between the NFL and Comcast to get the NFL Network on a free television across the country. "We think it deserves to go to a broader audience," he said.

--On the disability program he said the NFL's problems are not isolated to his sport. He said there have been changes made to take out some of the red tape.

--On the Media Day "circus," Goodell said the players are celebrities, so there's going to be an entertainment aspect to the day. He said the league will continue to balance the entertainment and the football aspects of the day.

--He spoke about Michael Irvin's recommendation that rookies be given a course on the history of the game. Goodell said it would be beneficial to have all incoming players spend a day at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

--He talked about the 20 percent reduction in incidents involving players in the past year. He said there was also a tremendous reduction in the numbers of incidents involving rookies.

--He spoke about the importance of players taking measures to keep themselves and their families safe. The league lost four players in the past year and each was 24 years old, he said.

--The G-3 stadium funding program is not in affect, but it's important for the league to assist in helping teams build stadiums. Some form of the program will continue, he said.

--He spoke of the possibility of reducing the sizeable contracts the top rookies sign and spreading it out to some of the more established players in the league - making sure more money goes to the players who have earned it.

Goodell sempre più geniale, a questo punto io proporrei direttamente dei PO strutturati con un primo match 5vs6, la vincente contro 4, poi contro 3, poi 2 e poi 1 per il championship... la chiamerei "The Silver way to the Superbowl". Secondo me gli piacerebbe. Oltre questo, impagabile soprattutto quando ha detto che l'NFL ha un "Golden Standard" per quello che riguarda i controlli antidoping e poi ha aggiunto "...anche se non controlliamo l'ormone della crescita. Ma tanto, chi volete che lo prenda?". Dico solo

Lasciando perdere le idiozie dette riguardo ai controlli antidoping da parte di Goodell, l'idea relativa al fatto che chi abbia un record migliore giochi in casa anche se non è vincente di division non mi sembra nemmeno tanto insensata.

Con la specifica che a parità di record ha diritto a giocare in casa la vincente di division.

Con la specifica che a parità di record ha diritto a giocare in casa la vincente di division.

Concordo che sulla carta in effetti è un ragionamento che ci potrebbe stare, anche se io preferisco le regole d'assegnamento attuali dell' Home Field Advantage. Credo che chi vince una Division in fondo abbia già vinto qualcosa e questo è già molto di più che non finire un'annata (magari con una schedule onesta) con un buon record. Starei sul tradizionale se fosse per me.. :gazza:

a mio avviso l' esclusione del salary cap sarebbe la rovina di questa stupenda lega :gazza:

Non solo concordrei, ma ritengo anche che sia il sistema migliore. E' assurdo avere in casa una vincitrice di division che magari chiude 9-7 o 8-8 e va ad ospitare una WC che magari è 13-3, imho.
