Vorrei fare una domanda, ma se i Patriots dovessero vincere all'Overtime, non sarebbe una stagione perfetta, vero?

I 49ers del 1984? Scelta coraggiosa... Però non è così assurda. Il modo in cui si sbarazzarono degli avversari nei playoff (Giants, Bears e Dolphins) fu micidiale. Io personalmente avrei inserito i 49ers del 1994 tra le prime 8, anche se devo ammettere che è una scelta condizionata dal tifo; forse i miei #1 soni i 49ers del 1989.

Anche secondo me la squdra del 1994 meritava di esserci ma queste classifiche lasciano comunque il tempo che trovano.

Io purtroppo non ho visto i Niners del 84 e i Bears del 85 perchè ho iniziato a seguire il football l' anno dopo. Quindi devo dire che l' impressione di squadra imbattibile che mi hanno fatto i Patriots di quest' anno ricordo di averla provata per i Niners del 89 e basta. Tutte le altre squadre nominate nell' articolo ne avevano almeno un' altra allo stesso livello che poteva batterli. I Cowboys del 92 ed i Niners del 94 vinsero i championships con una chiamata dubbia che poteva girare la partita a favore dell' avversario. Anzi forse i Cowboys del 93 anche se non sono nominati nell' articolo e vinsero gli incontri di playoffs in modo meno netto sono stati più dominanti. Ebbero qualche problema solo nelle prime 2/3 settimane perchè Emmitt Smith era in holdout poi veramente dominarono. Persero quel famoso Thanksgiving con i Dolphins sotto la neve per una ca**ata di Leon Lett ma erano degli schiacciasassi.

Non condizionato dal tifo quoto, perchè quei 49ers, dopo la scoppola rimediata a Philadelphia nelle prime giornate, divennero delle macchine da guerra. Young, Rice e Watters giocarono dei playoffs assurdi, la sensazione che ricordo è che non avevo nemmeno voglia di cominciare a vedere le peartite, perchè si sapeva già che vincevano loro, proprio come i Patriots di quest'anno.
Riguardo l'articolo citato dal China, la mia opinione personale è che i Patriots del 2007 siano da considerare nelle prime tre di ogni epoca, considerando sempre che fare questo tipo di giudizi è davvero difficile e le motivazoni per stilare una classifica del genere possono essere le più disparate.

Da tifoso, includerei i Redskins del 1991 tra i primi 10, 14-2 in regular season ed un dominio netto in qualsiasi partita di playoffs.

Referee Mike Carey has been named to head the seven-man crew of officials selected to work Super Bowl XLII.

The other members of the officiating crew are Tony Michalek (umpire), Gary Slaughter (head linesman), Carl Johnson (line judge), Boris Cheek (field judge), Larry Rose (side judge) and Scott Helverson (back judge). The Super Bowl XLII officiating crew collectively has 71 years of NFL officiating experience and 43 combined postseason game assignments.

Carey, who is concluding his 18th season as an NFL game official, served as the alternate referee in Super Bowl XXXVI. The Santa Clara University alum has officiated in 14 playoff games -- two NFL championships, four divisional playoffs and eight wild card games. Carey was the referee when the Giants and Patriots met last December 29 at Giants Stadium in the teams' regular-season finale, a 38-35 New England victory.

Under the NFL officiating program's evaluation system, the highest-rated officials at each position with the appropriate experience earn the right to work the Super Bowl. Super Bowl officials must have five years of NFL experience and previous playoff assignments.

Ken Baker is the replay assistant and will be working his third postseason game.
