intanto J.Fox salva il posto a carolina e l'owner richardson promette cambiamenti in offseason e dice che per l'anno prossimo vorrebbe arrivare ad avere un attacco stile quello di pittsburgh... allora ti do un consiglio io! caccia Foster e metti D.Williams #1 RB

Beh la stagione di Carolina è andata a donne di facili costumi con l'infortunio di Delhomme... poi il resto è stato un prosieguo in calando....

Spero l'anno prossimo sia competitiva.... mi piace molto

Soprattutto spero stia bene Morgan... giocatore sfortunatissimo

se cacciano anche Carr, Testaverde, e, se non recupera, Delhomme, è ancora meglio....

Matt Moore è ormai il backup di delhomme e ha fatto bene nelle ultime uscite.. nominato rookie del mese di dicembre

ovviamente se torna delhomme è ancora meglio!

Addio al salary cap?
The NFL Players Association is not going to give in, executive director Gene Upshaw said at a press conference just minutes ago here at the Super Bowl.

He said he expects the owners to terminate the current CBA in November of 2008, which would means '09 could be the last year of the salary cap and 2010 would be an uncapped year.

Upshaw said if it ever gets to the point that the NFL has an uncapped year, the players will never agree to another salary cap.

"It's the owners' attitude (now) that the players have too good of a deal," Upshaw said. "And I can't convince the players that they should take less for the owners to get more."

He said the options are 1) strike, 2) a lockout, 3) decertification of the union, and 4) an extension.

Upshaw said the reason for decertification would be to "attack the owners under anti-trust laws."

He added, "We're getting 60 percent of revenue, and when all is said and done, we're not giving anything back. . . . I don't want the owners to believe somehow there's a Santa Claus. There is none."

Specifically, he asked, it needs to be decided when a Pro Bowl should be played, where a Pro Bowl should be played and IF a Pro Bowl should be played at all.

Della serie: il Pro Bowl non frega a nessuno. Riusciamo almeno a guadargni qualche soldino? No! Beh allora cancelliamolo!! Fine inevitabile di un evento inutile.

Sulla fine del salary cap, ovviamente mi auguro che non sia arrivi a questo né tantomeno ad uno sciopero ma ho idea che sarà una trattativa abbastanza dura.

Ci risiamo col salary cap. Prima o poi lo perderanno, ne sono sicuro, anche se fatico a capirne il senso. Uno sciopero e un lockout sarebbero troppo deleteri per l'immagine della Nfl. Una stagione brevissima, saltare un anno ammazzerebbe l'immagine della lega e riconquistare stima sarebbe dura. Senza contare che, al contrario dei giocatori di hockey, gli atleti Nfl non avrebbero alcun campionato a cui legarsi per stare in allenamento saltando così troppi mesi prima di rientrare in campo.

Non ci capirò mai niente, ma credo che concedere quanto chiesto di tetto quest'anno dagli owner sia un buon modo per avvicinare le parti (e aumentare gli stipendi) rendendo più vicino il punto d'accordo per il futuro. Certo che 'sto Upshaw è un bel rompiballe...

Sono d'accordo, uno sciopero fatto in un momento come questo in cui la popolarità della NFL è in forte crescita e si cerca timidamente un'espansione all'estero sarebbe una sciagura. Ho un mente l'esempio dell'MLB nel 1994 e degli anni che sono passati prima che il baseball ritornasse a certi livelli.
Il punto è che uno dei motivi della grande popolarità dell'NFL è, secondo me, proprio il salary cap che garantisce equilibio ed un grande ricambio tra le squadre di vertice; io mi auguro che non venga tolto e che si arrivi ad un accordo soddisfacente per tutti.

il problema non e' legato al salary cap, ma alla % degli incassi (medi) a cui dovrebbe corrispondere.
Uno sciopero fu già tentato, con risultato decisamente sfavorevole ai giocatori( per una serie di concause), non penso ci riarriveranno, vedo piu' probabile un tentativo di causa
