Question - Relocation

I am pretty sure the answer is no, but is there any chance I'd be able to relocate (and pay a fine of some sort)?

I'd remain in the area for the Western Conference, but I hate that I didn't choose a Canadian city.

Is this possible? I'll pay some sort of fine.

If not, no big deal.

Come erano le regole? Comunque per me basterebbe che restassero nella stessa conference o eventualmente se la scambiassero direi. Pagando quel che è.

IT: io ero per avere regole più tranquille, ma le regole che ci sono vanno rispettate. 4 anni dall'ultimo cambio, se non cambia l'owner.
Se cambia l'owner invece è possibile.

Premise: any change must be performed during the off-season.

Free relocation within the same conference and free change of the team's name (League Commission will have the chance to assess fines if the abandoning GM rejoins later on).

Quindi la tua possibilità di rilocare a fine stagione (cioè adesso) all'interno della stessa conference non è in discussione.

Diverso è il discorso se tu volessi rilocare ad Ovest e ci fosse qualcuno ad Ovest desideroso di muoversi ad Est.

E diverso è il discorso anche x Denver:

a) teams whose ownership remained unchanged
Prohibition of both relocation and change of team's name for at least 4yrs from the last modification;
chance for relocation (only in the same conference, unless in the other one a new owner entering the league shows the will to change the conference of its inherited franchise) and/or change of team's name become available after 4 yrs through the payment of a fine worth 2M (to be applied to the following season salary cap).

Quindi se vogliamo la squadra resta dov'è a prescindere dalla volontà del GM.

Detto ciò, non è che dobbiamo x forza farci ingabbiare da quelle linee guida..
Esistono per scoraggiare situazioni di questo tipo, ma se nella situazione specifica la LC valuta che ci può essere un motivo per acconsentire (cioè la cosa andrebbe in qualche modo a beneficio della lega), considerando che è una cosa che non potrebbe danneggiare nessuno si potrebbe anche derogare.
Sempre chiarendo che a prescindere da un'eventuale eccezione quanto scritto sopra continuerà a valere: cioè nessuno potrà pretendere di poter rilocare sulla base di un eventuale precedente.

Nel caso di snipe, è possibile che ripartire con un nome/città che ora gli ispira di più possa aiutarlo a trovare un entusiasmo che sembra non avere avuto in passato.. cioè la cosa potrebbe avere delle conseguenze positive.

Cmq viste queste due richieste io approfitterei x esaminare una volta per tutte tutta la attuale suddivisione della lega, visto che ogni anno assistiamo ai pianti dell'Ovest sulla presunta pochezza dell'Est.
Se ci fosse una soluzione che va bene a tutti e che rende la lega più divertente e combattuta (e che toglie le scuse a anzer e compagnia) perché impedirselo da soli.. anche in NHL ogni tanto decidono dei riallineamenti, l'importante è che sia la lega a deciderlo e non un paio di GM per loro interesse (è per evitare quest'ultimo scenario che abbiamo scritto quelle 'regole', non per impedirci cambiamenti su cui fossimo tutti d'accordo)

But yeah, I don't mind paying a fine (say, a hit on my salary cap) or something. Being that I am (I think) the only Canadian, I just wish I chose a Canadian city to represent. It was dumb thinking that I do regret now.

Unless some sort of realignment happens, then free relocation sounds like a great plan to me!

I'll let you higher-ups decide what you think is best for the league.
