The Angels Saturday announced former Major League pitcher Jerry Dipoto has agreed to terms on a five-year contract to become General Manager. He will oversee all aspects of the club's baseball operations and report directly to Owner Arte Moreno. Dipoto becomes the 11th General Manager in club history.

Erick Aybar was far from home, in the Far East, when he learned that he was a Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner for the first time.

The Angels have agreed to terms with Scott Servais on a multi-year deal to serve as assistant general manager overseeing scouting and player development.
Servais, a former Major League catcher, has been employed by the Rangers for six seasons as senior director of player development.
Servais will report to new general manager Jerry Dipoto.

The Angels have hired former Major League first baseman Hal Morris as their director of professional scouting, general manager Jerry Dipoto announced Monday.

The Angels announced the club’s former manager Marcel Lachemann has been named as a Special Assistant to the General Manager. Additionally, Larry Corrigan and Tim Schmidt have been named major league special assignment scouts with the club. These announcements were made by General Manager Jerry Dipoto.

Tim è bravo e soprattutto simpaticissimo. Ha anche giocato in Olanda da giovane (e mi ha raccontato storie epiche :forza: ). E' un peccato che ci lasci per andare a LA, ma era ovvio che Jerry si portasse via qualcuno. Un paio li ha bloccati Towers, sennò se ne sarebbe portati altri ancora.

The Angels added pitchers Johnny Hellweg, Fabio Martinez and Ariel Pena and shortstop Jean Segura to their 40-man roster on Friday. The moves protect them from being selected in the Rule 5 Draft on Dec. 8, and all four will be in Major League camp in Spring Training next February.

The Angels continued to fortify their redesigned front office on Wednesday with the hiring of Matt Klentak as assistant general manager.
Agreeing to a multiyear contract, Klentak joins new general manager Jerry Dipoto, who earlier had hired Scott Servais as his assistant GM in charge of scouting and player development.

Moving to shore up their catching from the offensive side, the Angels on Wednesday acquired Chris Iannetta from the Rockies in exchange for pitcher Tyler Chatwood.

It is the first move of consequence by the new Angels front office headed by general manager Jerry Dipoto.

The Angels on Saturday shipped veteran catcher Jeff Mathis to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for left-handed pitcher Brad Mills, Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto announced.

The Angels have agreed to a deal with Albert Pujols, the best free agent available this offseason and arguably the greatest player of this era, sources told MLB.com on Thursday.

The deal, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network and Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, is for 10 years, includes a full no-trade clause and could reach at least $260 million.

The Angels' also came to terms on a deal with free-agent left-hander C.J. Wilson.

The agreement with Wilson, formerly of the Rangers, is for $77.5 million over five years, a source confirmed.
