The Los Angeles Kings announce that they have traded the rights to Tuuka Rask, their 1st overall pick in 2010, 2 3rd round picks in 2009 and right wing Jiri Hudler to Ontario for netminder Carey Price and veteran center Bobby Holik.

"This move shows our fans our commitment to win now - said GM Anze during a press conference held at the Toyota Center, the training facility of the Kings - Rask has a tremendous upside and we wish him the best, but he might not be ready yet. On the other hand, Carey represents a huge upgrade in goal for us, and his presence on the roster will give Bernier the possibility to develop in the minors. Thomas and Garon complete, in our opinion, one of the best goaltending group of the league"

"Regarding Hudler, he simply asked to be traded and we met his wish. During my last visit in Los Angeles I had a brief conversation with him, and he wasn't happy with his contract. Wearing this jersey is a honour, and I want only players who are committed 100%. This trade kinda happened out of nowhere, but looking at our roster, we're happier today than we were yesterday. We are very confident to make lots of damage this season and our goal is to compete for the Cup, it's no secret".

"With the picking of Drew Doughty at the last Entry draft, our 6 defensemen are set. We'll definitely try to add a couple more blueliners via free agency or through trades, but the roster is basically done. We're sure Boyle is ready to contribute, and this might push me to trade another center on our team, but first Brian must show he can play with the big guys. If you ask me, I'm sure he'll answer this call".

"We put a waiver claim on a couple forwards too, as we think these two player can step in and complete our offense. We'll know more about it tomorrow morning".

E' una buona trade per tutti e due secondo me.

In quanto a cedere un goalie, può essere.
Ma decisamente più avanti.

Mats Sundin has been practicing these days at the Kings facility center, and he's inching closer to a return in the NHL. Considering the actual problems of the team in the face-off department, Mats' presence on the ice would be more than welcomed.

Three weeks into the regular season, the Kings GM is pleased with the brilliant play of the youngsters on the team: Milan Lucic, David Krejci, Patrick O'Sullivar, Devin Setoguchi, Oscar Moller and Drew Doughty are all off to very convincing starts. The same could be said for rugged LW Ryan Clowe, who's playing top six minutes.

On the other hand, Dave Morrison and Philippe Boucher are struggling, and their woes might be a direct consequence of the injuries they suffered last season. If they'll keep disappointing, they'll soon be trade bait. Brad Stuart isn't off a stellar start too.

In the goaltending department, Carey Price is having a solid start, while Thomas and Garon are not showing lots of consistency, hopefully they'll both get back on track. Erik Ersberg, recently acquired from Philadelphia, is looking to play more minutes.
