Re: Vancouver Black Cats

Re: Vancouver Black Cats
Buon Fantasy a tutti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Vancouver Black Cats
work in progress
Vancouver Black Cats
2010
GM
Pitchers
Feix Hernandez
SEA
1986
His fastball can reach 97 m.p.h., and he adds a devastating curve and a very strong change-up to his impressive arsenal. Induces plenty of groundballs, since his fastball has a ton of movement and sinking action. Has amazing command and poise.
Johan Santana
NYM
1979
Has a quality fastball and one of the best change-ups in the big leagues. Gets ahead in the count and works quickly. His command is consistently excellent. Defends his position well and can even hit a little.
Barry Zito
SF
1978
Owns an intimidating curveball that makes left-handed hitters' knees buckle. Mixes his pitches with aplomb. Is a durable and competitive starter.
Gio Gonzalez
OAK
1985
Has tremendous stuff and the ability to dominate hitters, especially lefty bats. Owns an arsenal of pitches that give batters fits. Can strike plenty of batters out.
Jason Marquis
WAS
1978
Marquis has a solid fastball and is able to keep the ball in the park by inducing ground balls with his biting slider. He handles hitters equally well from both sides, keeps runners close, and doesn't let that leadoff man do any damage.
Ian Snell
SEA
1981
In terms of pure stuff, he has the goods to be very successful in the big leagues. Tends to get better deep into his starts. Is fearless on the mound.
Billy Buckner
ARI
1983
Throws a very good curveball, and most of his pitches have movement. Can both start and relieve, and is resilient enough to be used early and often

Trevor Hoffman
MIL
1967
Still owns one of the best change-ups in the bigs. Hides the ball very well in his wind-up, causing batters to swing late on the fastball and early on the change.
One of the greatest closers ever.
Francisco Cordero
CIN
1975
A live, high-90s fastball is his greatest asset, coupled with a nice slider to keep hitters honest. Is quite durable.
Jeremy Affeldt
SF
1979
Throws hard, works well with runners in scoring position and gives left-handed hitters nightmares. Can strike batters out with consistency. Keeps the ball in the park.
J,P. Howell
TB
1983
Has good command of a couple of different fastballs, plus a curveball, splitter and change-up. Is a versatile, hard-nosed hurler.
Luke Gregerson
SD
1984
Has an ideal pitchers' frame and a live arm. Can strike batters out but is also usually around the plate.

Hitters
Yadier Molina (C)
STL
1982
Defense is the name of his game, complete a terrific arm and good leadership skills behind the plate. At the plate, he's a disciplined contact hitter.
Todd Helton (1B)
COL
1973
Has one of the best batting eyes in the league and the patience to lay off pitches he knows he can't hit. He's a devoted student of the art of hitting
Adam Dunn (1B)
WAS
1979
His combination of light-tower power and profound patience at the plate is among the best in Major League Baseball. Can play an outfield corner or first base
Howie Kendrick (2B)
LAA
1983
Has a quick bat and makes superb contact. He also has solid power for a guy his size and is fundamentally sound with the glove
Marco Scutaro (SS)
BOS
1975
Extremely patient at the plate and has solid power. Has the speed and instincts to lead off. Turns it up a notch with runners on base. Versatile with the mitt
Mike Aviles (2B,SS)
KS
1981
Has above-average power for a middle infielder and sound hitting instincts in general. Displays decent plate discipline
Chipper Jones (3B)
ATL
1972
A consummate pro and team leader. Has a rare ability to hit for elite average and very good power, mixing a sweet natural swing with great plate patience and clutch ability. Versatile with the glove. Top-tier run producer (when healthy) & future Hall of Famer
Mark Reynolds (3B,1B)
ARI
1983
Boasts tremendous home run power. Is fearless at the plate and can produce runs in bunches. Is extremely athletic for his size. Can steal bases and is a true gamer with the glove
Ichiro Suzuki (RF)
SEA
1973
Possesses a smooth, quick swing that produces line drives. Has the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Has blazing speed. Is a great defensive player. An elite leadoff hitter and batting title candidate
Corey Hart (RF)
MIL
1982
Has a solid power/speed combination. Runs the bases well. Is a decent defender and a versatile outfielder
Rajai Davis (CF)
OAK
1980
Has tremendous speed and the range to play center field. Hits left-handers very well and steals bases with aplomb
Cody Ross (CF,RF)
FLO
1980
Owns surprising power for his frame and plenty of grit and determination. Can play all three outfield positions and get red-hot with the bat
Raul Ibanez (LF)
PHI
1972
Has good power and a knack for driving in runners in scoring position. Doesn't strike out as much as you might expect from a slugger of his caliber.
