Blue Jays president Paul Beeston and general manager Alex Anthopolous issued a joint statement Tuesday declaring the Jays have altered its policy regarding employees moving to another organization if it is considered a lateral move. The change would seem to be in response to the rumors regarding Toronto manager John Farrell potentially talking to the Red Sox about their vacant managerial opening.

"The Toronto Blue Jays have amended their policy and will not grant permission for lateral moves," the statement read.

Previously, Anthopolous had suggested that the Blue Jays would not stand in the way of any of their employees talking to another organization, regardless of the title.

"Selfishly, I don't want any of our guys to leave," the GM told Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca, "but at the same time I hope all of our employees have opportunities to better themselves, whether it's responsibilities, financial, whatever it might be."

WEEI.com reported Sunday that the Red Sox were not presently planning on interviewing any candidates currently managing in Major League Baseball. Speculation regarding the Sox' interest in Farrell continued to grow, however, due to the 49-year-old's history with the organization.

John è un tipo "solido". Fanno bene i Jays a tenerselo stretto.

- Tony LaCAva resta Vice-GM dei Jays, rifiutando la carica di GM degli Orioles.
- Ci sono insistenti rumors riguardo la creazione di una squadra di minor league "alta" ad Ottawa per la stagione 2013.
Las Vegas e New Hampshir vedono scadere i loro contratti a fine 2012, ma mentre NH (AA) è considerata una squadra modello e un esempio di successo di una squadra delle minors, i Jays lascerebbero volentieri Vegas, troppo lontana per qualsiasi callup d'emergenza e troppo squilibrata come ambiente per giudicare adeguatamente i giocatori. Si potrebbe quindi avere una riedizione dei vecchi Ottawa Lynx (erano affliati Expos) in AAA o anche, dato il ventilato desiderio di NH di salire di categoria, potremmo vedere i New Hampshire Fisher Cats in AAA e gli Ottawa qualcosa in AA. In entrambi i casi, le squadre da "spostare" a Ottawa potrebbero essere due affiliate dei Mets, ovvero i Buffalo Bisons (AAA) o i Binghamton Mets (AA)
- Gira in rete già da un pò una versione del nuovo logo dei Jays che va per la maggiore. Sarebbe una riedizione in chiave moderna del logo originale, senza pallina stile yankees, ghiandaia un pò più affusolata e foglia d'acero non integrata nel disegno, ma quasi "appiccicata". Vediamo se escono altre ipotesi.

Cominciano ad uscire i vari report sui farm system. Sickels sta aprontando la lista dei prospetti dei Blue Jays, e a un primo "taglio" ne aveva 61(!!!). Ora è sceso a 42. A breve uscirà il suo ranking.
